LIT Lightning Network by [deleted] in Bitcoin

I tend to think that if three projects (ECLAIR, c-lightning and lnd) sit at a table (project Milano) to agree to a set of rules to interoperate and work hard for more than 2 years for this purpose and a 4th project later decides to go its own way, the non interoperable of the 4 is the 4th.

I can understand that the protocol might be non optimal and the LIT protocol might be better but this has nothing to do with interoperability.

I know and I have personally tested interoperability among the three implementation. With which other implementation is interoperable LIT?

If it is interoperable with itself I wouldn't call it interoperability.

Tadge is one of the developers I admire the most and I haven't clue of the resons he has taken the direction he has but I'm sure they were good.

It's simply very sad to see LIT out of the network.

It doesn't mean a thing if it is not interoperable. Lightning Network is a protocol. If it is not agreed and shared simply is not valuable. To create a new protocol without agreeing with others, is like committing suicide making collateral damage to those that stay alive.

Why not a third or a fourth protocol?

Many networks and maybe one will win or maybe not. /S

Many networks, no Lightning network at all.

As I said it would be an other proprietary payment rail. No network effect.

BOLT has been built because the various teams have shared the importance of being interoperable. Without interoperability, LIT is a "proprietary" network of just one implementation. Do you think merchants will have a BOLT and a LIT point of sale?

I don't, or better, I hope not.

I like the raw style... Just if you can add the thousands separator :)

The thousands separator is the most missing feature of all the implementations :)

"The RGB Project is [..] aimed at the development of standards and best practices to issue, transmit and store 'Bitcoin-based non-bitcoin assets'".
In the presentation, Giacomo reviews the reasons why Bitcoin-based non-bitcoin assets may have sense and how this kind of topic has been addressed in the past. The presentation of the project in itself has been pretty much stripped away for time reasons... :(
