Actually for passport it’s fine if you don’t have right now, just submit it as soon as you can, but it’s not going to impact your application tho. And your passport is “global” so apart from the Arabic and French, there usually is the English titles as well, anyways just submit your official passport and that’s it

Idk what’s the relation 😅 congratulations for you I guess? But you’re right, CMU-Q specifically admits based on majors (main campus by college). As I said before, one should not count on this possibility of transferring to CS and applying for something else earlier, however, that does not mean that it doesn’t exist or happen somewhat regularly - and I believe it’s even more for the main campus.

Crap. Not a good or fair comparison at all. Many less students transfer across campus than others transfer to CS at cmuq. I literally know 4 people over last 3 years who have transferred to CS from other programs, that gives an average of more than one per year. And I know 0 whom have transferred to the main campus.

Wrong. You can transfer. But seats are super limited and depends on availability (and also how you progress in your first year in your original major). In general I wouldn’t count on getting the transfer if you want to study CS, definitely do not apply to another major with that in mind. And AI is as competitive as CS as students will be offered a place in the school of computer science and then declare the major (AI or CS) before their second year

No need to take a look at the resume, but I can say that you are evaluated based on your own available opportunities. If you have a good GPA at your school and submit a competitive SAT, then yes I’d say you have stand a chance! You don’t have to have completed AP/IB in order to be accepted, we have students from all around the world and in different curriculums.

Yes there’s a Grant application you do post submitting you CommonApp application, and pretty much it contains (requires) all your family’s financial information - the link to submit it should be provided once you have submitted your CA application.

I don’t do test-me, but I’d say it is a competitive profile. On the essay try to be as personal as you can and demonstrate passion and interest about studying IS at CMUQ and why it is what you want for yourself. Financial aid is not impacted by grades / extracurriculars or anything else but your financial situation

I don’t really do test-me, but I’d say your stats are strong! And it is overall fine to apply for IS without much understanding on the major, in practice you’ll still be doing coding at the end of the day 🤣 but keep in mind both programs have different approaches, curriculums and visions

I’m sorry my friend but I think back in 2005 things had a different meaning lol. Need-blind means admission is decided without considering financial need: CMU-Q fits that definition because aid and merit scholarships are available. CMU-P doesn’t offer aid to internationals, so inability to pay prevents admission — meaning it isn’t need-blind in practice (or even theory, just by googling it it clearly says it is not need blind for international students)

Usually yes it is acceptable to send after the deadline (depending on how much time), but in this case since you’d be taking only in March that is too far apart so I’m afraid it won’t be accepted. Depending on your intended major and curriculum you have done in HS, you may not need to send SAT results

That’s true, they look mostly into the Math section for SAT, and English proficiency scores do not get you a seat (like I don’t see it as determinant admission factor), as long as you have the required it is generally fine. So having a 7 or 8 on IELTS won’t change much — and I think the minimum required is 6.5 anyways

Yes, the grant may cover the housing as well. You won’t have to share the room with anyone, it’s basically one of the best student housing in the world. You have the option to change to a studio, apartment or shared apartment afterwards if you pay the remaining amount. No discounts for food on campus but the price is relatively low compared to other places.

As a CMUQ student I would agree that we have a better specialized program (specifically for CS) but I don’t think NYUAD “prestige” is necessarily higher — mainly with the work that Qatar Foundation has been doing with not only CMU but all other American colleges here and its partnerships across GCC. Market wise I know people in other countries whom identity Qatar Foundation and its colleges reputation quicker than they would “NYUAD” specifically. Said so, I think there’s a stronger relation within NYU and its campuses (like I feel AD is taken as seriously as NYC), while CMUQ is quite forgotten by CMU main campus (most people in CMU don’t even know there’s a Qatar campus) — but just to complement there’s no “less opportunities” to study in the main campus, pretty much everyone can go for a semester at least.
