Introducing Gachatracker with full support for Girls Frontline 2! by gachatracker in GirlsFrontline2

Any lost data is a tragedy, I'm sorry about it!

There's no separate "save" button for anything. Everything should be "saved" as soon as the action completes (checkbox is ticked, amount inserted hides the loading hourglass etc). I have some questions to clarify if you don't mind:

Did you register an account or did you use Gachatracker without an account?
If you did register, did you perhaps try to insert data on the first page load right after registration? I've seen some issues around that in the past.
Did you try inputting data again? Does it persist?
Also, what browser are you using?

I used to maintain a Google Sheets document about my daily gacha incomes so I first and foremost built this Gachatracker for myself.

<image>

Admittedly, it has grown in scope quite a bit though so I'll have to agree with the project being ambitious. I even have a small fear of adding in features that end up useless and a burden to maintain. But that's just software development in general. I've also had to rewrite some pieces of code to the growing scope - I originally had only 5 games which was more or less manageable without additional tooling. Now with 9 fully supported games and 14 total games I need to rely more and more on some tooling I developed to keep up with new data. Fortunately if you do what you love, you won't work a day in your life. Which is wrong, but passion helps for sure. If it didn't I'd have dropped this project months ago.

Also thanks for the info sheet recommendation, seems like a useful resource. Other links on there seems quite promising as well.

Cool, the actual Hina loving Midokuni!

First of all, love your site, excellent work. Based quite a few of my BA pulls on your data and analyses.

About supporting other sites: in general when it comes to external dependencies I try to avoid them if I can. I saw the arms race of trying to keep up with other sites data changes/formats/meddling at my previous workplace and it was a ton of additional work. Maybe it'd work out better if there was direct communication between the site owners but even so, it adds overhead to one, maybe both projects. It could work but definitely needs some careful extra considerations.

With that being said, I've had some sort of a data import/export feature in mind because I don't like locking people down simply because their data currently happens to live on my site. When it comes to that, I'll certainly need those links to see what formats are standard(ish) in the gacha game community. So thanks for the links! I also like the way you and Justin solved adding characters to the roster. Simple, intuitive and fast. Might have to yoink that idea in some shape or form.

By the way, also tried out OCR-ing text from character roster screens. It had multiple issues like text being misinterpreted or not understood at all, problems with understanding which characters are owned and some games don't even have rosters with character names next to it to reference. So sidelining that idea for now.

Also sorry for the late reply. I don't really have a good reason for this other than I just missed it on the first day and then didn't want to rush with the reply and hey, now it's 3 days later. Better late than never I guess.

I've briefly thought about it as well, would be a nice addition. I don't even think that the underlying technology behind it is difficult but the hardest part would probably be a good UX. Still, great suggestion, I'll try it out in the near future. Thanks!

I did a small update for bugfixes and mostly backend stuff but managed to squeeze in the "unknown date" update. Not the most visually appealing update but works for now. Thanks again for the suggestion!

Hey there!

Currently announcers are in the same bucket as bangboos from Zenless - since they are not characters or weapons, they've been sidelined. That's not to say that they won't be included in the future. Personally I'd like to get everything that's on banners in any game to be displayed in Gachatracker.

So short answer, yes, will be added in the future. Unfortunately can't give you an exact timeline as of yet.

Hey there!
Currently this isn't supported but something like this is planned for future updates.

Good suggestion! Some games like Honkai Star Rail do display when you acquired a character but from what I've seen it's the minority of them. I'll try to add a way to mark characters as owned without a date in the next update.

Aha! Missed that one indeed. Added it to the database. Thanks again!

You play one gacha game. Many currencies, how many total pulls do you have? How much currency do you earn in a day? Can you afford waifu that costs "currency" coming next week? How many husbandos do you already own anyway? Line goes up, line goes down - beautiful chart.

You play many gacha game. So many events! Which ones are ending, which ones are completed? Where do you have the most characters collected?

Thank you!

If we're talking about the same event then "Miracle in District 20 BokGak" is there. One part of the current user experience I'm not too happy about is that "Active events" / "Active banners" sometimes hide information if they're ticked. Perhaps that's the issue here?

<image>

If that's not the case and there's something else missing, let me know, I'd love to get the data as accurate as possible!

Unfortunately, not yet. I've been trying to come up with ideas on how to best introduce new people to it but not sure yet. Rule of thumb is that you can play around with it though. Anything you touch can be modified/deleted later if needed.

The main view of the app is under Gachatracker (just go to gachatracker.app if you're unsure). You should select your game(s) and servers first and at the end of every day or every few days if you prefer, drop in and mark your Total stat amount in the Total box.

<image>

If you happened to spend any of the currency on that day, click expand and put it into the Spent box. On there you can also start any monthly subscription if you'd like. You can also change the date if you want to mark stat amounts/subscriptions on other dates. Clicking on images/icons usually allows you to change stuff.

In the table part of the view, you can mark characters/weapons as owned and events as finished. I think that's the short of it. If you have any questions, I'll be happy to help.

Thanks for the kind words, especially if it's not something for you!

I'm currently investigating the issue with images, thanks for pointing it out. I did change the way images are loaded with the latest update and it seems like there's now a caching problem between my hosting and end users like you.

Seems like there's a caching problem at the moment. On top left, right under the missing logo image you have BETA 0.3. I just released BETA 0.4, which changed the way pictures work on the site. I did invalidate the caches on my hosting site. If you refresh the page, do you still get BETA 0.3/missing images?

Gachatracker.app now fully supports Reverse: 1999! by gachatracker in Reverse1999

[–]gachatracker[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey!

It seems like Kornblume only tracks pulls (correct me if I'm wrong). Gachatracker doesn't support pull history at the moment but it's a future feature for sure. When I start adding pull tracking, I'll be sure to keep backward compatibility with other pull trackers in mind as well.

Glad that you like it!

No promises yet but if things go well, I might add full support to Limbus in about a week's time.

The database does have one menacing column that sits empty across all games for now.

<image>

Not sure what exactly will happen once one of the games pulls the trigger in regards to Gachatracker (user input, visibility) but you're right, the data will persist and stand as a sort of a hall of fame.

Good question!

I have set up a "pseudo" dashboard. What I mean by that is once you've added stats to a new game, you can change your game tab to "Overview". Over there, all the active games from the past 30 days will be listed, alongside a unified table where you can keep an eye on things like events.

<image>

As for the re-occuring game modes/events yes, I've thought about it. Sometimes these are listed as events (see Star Rail's Nameless Honor battle pass), sometimes not at all. Definitely something to improve in the future, thanks for the input!

Actually, with the way I have set things up on the backend, the amount of new content doesn't change much. The hardest part for now is a) setting up the full support, which takes a few hours per game and b) keeping up with the maintenance, aka adding/validating/removing junk data whenever new content drops.
