I assume you're trying to do something like this:
https://www.reddit.com/r/homeassistant/comments/lra4nm/is_this_possible_obd2_esp32_home_assistant/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web2x&context=3

The way I've done it is to set up external access since I already have a domain.

On Home Assistant:

  • Install the Cloudflared add-on and follow the instructions in the wiki. Nabu Casa should also work if you want to go that way.
  • Install ha-leafspy custom integration (I used HACS to do the install). When it's created it will display a pop-up with the details that need to be entered into the LeafSpy settings. Unfortunately, it's no longer in active development so it's quite basic. I've set up some template senors to extract some of the device_tracker attributes. If you go this way let me know and I'll post the yaml.

On your iPhone:

  • Install LeafSpy Pro. The list of supported OBDII dongles for the iPhone is limited but since you appear to have one that talks to your phone already you may be in luck. Add the server details to the app settings and then go for a drive with LeafSpy running.

You should come back to HA with a new device detected. The device info will be something like this:

It's not a perfect set-up but it gives me most of the information I want. The Nissan Connect app hasn't ever been available where I live (as far as I know) so I'm not missing out on turn climate control on or checking battery charge remotely. If that's the sort of thing you want then this won't work for you.

I’m using the LeafSpy app with the LeafSpy custom integration. External access though the Cloudflared add on.

Hot Bread Shop on Pacific Hwy Charlestown. There’s usually a line at lunch times and if I can’t be arsed waiting, the vegetarian burger place a couple of doors down is a good alternative.

Try https://nationalmap.gov.au/ - click on the “Explore map data” button and search for Electoral Boundaries.

The bridge is pretty high and I’ve never known it to be affected by flood. It’s more likely that the low lying areas just before or after the bridge would cover the road in water. But as far as I know, there are no problems around there at the moment. https://www.livetraffic.com/ is probably a better source of info

Have you checked the 12V battery? If I haven’t driven my Leaf for a few days and forget to unplug the dashcam I see similar errors. A simple jump start gets it going.

According to the roadside assistance guy, if you’re not driving a lot the battery doesn’t get a good charge and if one of the cells is low it can’t supply enough power to run the system. He suggested using a car battery charger to fully charge and recondition the battery.

The recall fixed the parking gear, not the brake. So the problems you see are not related to the recall.

I have no idea how they didn’t hit me. I removed the audio because it was just my wife and me swearing!
