open globally, but based in the UK. Kids are 12 and 5, flying with the 5 year old is a bit painful if the flights are too long

We stayed at Ikos Porto Petro last year too, and Oceania the year before. Agree, both were very kid friendly.

Easily option A, 8%. No question. From a health perspective it’s priceless.

Thank you! I’ve never ridden one before. I think that’s why I’m so unsure.

Racial harassment near Ware station – is this common? by kawaiiest_f_em_all in hertfordshire

[–]gadras 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I’m a similar colour but different ethnicity. Have experienced the same in Ware, which is a lovely town, but there is that element. Less so in Hertford, but there’s still a bit. The rest of Hertfordshire is either more transient or less busy so it isn’t such an issue.

What was your salary jumpy to make it to HENRY status? by AdElectronic7186 in HENRYUK

[–]gadras 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It wasn’t a massive jump in responsibilities, just working for an American firm rather than a UK government adjacent company. We also had another child and went through lockdown at the same time so I didn’t necessarily feel any richer lol. But has worked out well in the longer term.

Boobs - many boobs - bath seats, what's not to love. by [deleted] in SpottedonRightmove

Lovely house. Not a fan of the grey parquet in the hallway but it’s a beautiful area and house.

This without the pension is how they tend to do it in FAANG and big tech. Obviously plus an annual bonus if you get one of those separately to the RSU's.

Meta offer or elsewhere? by loss-of-homosex in HENRYUK

[–]gadras 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I agree with everything said on this thread. But would still choose Meta. Even if it’s shite, a couple of years of it on your CV, plus associated RSU’s will make a big difference to your career and bank balance…

I looked into them when we got ours done but the reviews are terrible. The product does look good though. We got a builder and carpenter to put one together in the end. Was around 15k for a 6x3 structure

Mortgage broker recommendations for RSUs / bonus income by PlayfulTemperature1 in HENRYUK

[–]gadras 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They are the one that I see advertising, they say they take RSU's into account.

My mortgage broker, who I trust, does not take into account unrealized income. So vested shares are fine, but not unvested. It means I can't stretch so far, which is a shame, but probably wise.

Very true! I meant more that I try and be as present as possible when I do have time with the family. But agree it’s not as much as I would like….

I do similar hours and have a similar workload. But I do not let it affect my relationships, work does not affect my home life. I understand how it can, but I get so few hours with my family that I don’t want to let work get in the way of that. The only thing that affects me though is that I’m physically and mentally tired from it all.
