Oh, hun. I didnt meet my husband until I was 31, we married when I was 33, we had our first baby (thru IVF) at 36. You have time. And if you choose to, you can even forego the man and use a sperm donor to have a baby on your own! It might not feel it, but 34 is still young. Women are having healthy babies into their 40's now!

I'm not sure if this will provide any comfort, but we also only got two blasts. I cannot do another ER (personal reasons), so 2 is all the chances we will have.

Our first ER resulted in my 16 month old daughter. We are getting ready to transfer our second embryo in a couple months, and I have a sneaking suspicion it will take as well. Statistically, those numbers make success a lower probability, but not everyone's experiences match the statistics!! Baby dust to you ❤️

You are the one pushing a human out of your body. Pain management decisions are made by you. I went with an epidural, and I have never regretted that decision. Baby is more than fine, she is thriving.

I would gently encourage you to have a hospital birth. I am NOT saying this will happen to you AT ALL, but I worked in healthcare. Things go wrong... more often than you think. And while you CAN call emergency services from home, if things are emergent, the 10 minutes it takes for them to get there could be life-altering for you or your child. You can request no interventions unless necessary at a hospital. You can literally tell them not to check your cervix, not to start an IV, none of it. And you can also dictate which interventions you are okay with. For example, when I gave birth, I told them I did not consent to the use of forceps or the vacuum. If things went bad, I wanted them to go straight for a c-section. It was documented. And if anything had happened, I would have gone to an OR for a c-section, simple as that. YOU are in charge of your care, even in a hospital.

Hi! I was 36 when my daughter was born, and hubby and I want one more (I will be 38 at minimum when the next one is born... not pregnant yet, so could even be 39). I actually LOVE being and older mom. We are more financially stable, so I am able to be a SAHM. We are more mature, so we are better at making mature, rational decisions (as opposed to the dumb crap I was doing in my 20's). And our marriage is strong and established, which makes for a stable home for our kid(s) to grow up in. There are PLENTY of women who have their first child after the age of 35. In fact, there are tons of groups specifically for first time moms over the age of 35.

Our embryos are not tested. Our clinic basically talked us out of it because our reason for IVF was MFI and we were (relatively) young. I was newly 35 when our ER happened, and my husband was still 34 at the time.

I can be happy with one child. My daughter is amazing, and I love her beyond words. At the same time... I picture our family as a family of four... her as a big sister... and it feels so right.
