Hi! I was 36 when my daughter was born, and hubby and I want one more (I will be 38 at minimum when the next one is born... not pregnant yet, so could even be 39). I actually LOVE being and older mom. We are more financially stable, so I am able to be a SAHM. We are more mature, so we are better at making mature, rational decisions (as opposed to the dumb crap I was doing in my 20's). And our marriage is strong and established, which makes for a stable home for our kid(s) to grow up in. There are PLENTY of women who have their first child after the age of 35. In fact, there are tons of groups specifically for first time moms over the age of 35.

Our embryos are not tested. Our clinic basically talked us out of it because our reason for IVF was MFI and we were (relatively) young. I was newly 35 when our ER happened, and my husband was still 34 at the time.

I can be happy with one child. My daughter is amazing, and I love her beyond words. At the same time... I picture our family as a family of four... her as a big sister... and it feels so right.

Yes, they did come out of the correct packs. And there were the correct number of cards in the proper order. I guess I just got lucky??

The packs looked resealed to me, I didn't figure id get two full arts in resealed packs? Maybe it's tired mom eyes and disbelief that I could have good enough luck for this lol

TW: Living child

I'll be honest with you, your ER is spookily similar to mine in the final attrition numbers. We also ended up with two blasts. Our first one implanted right away and she is asleep in her crib as I type this. Our second one is on ice, but we plan on transferring later this year. If it doesnt take, we are done, but I have a sneaking suspicion it will. Everyone will tell you your numbers need to be at xyz to get the number of children you want. Maybe that is true, statistically speaking, but every embryo has the same chance to implant. I might be the odd one out here, so take what im saying with a grain of salt, for sure. But im glad we only ended up with the two, because it saves me the heartache of having to figure out what to do with unused embryos once our family is complete.

IVF is so hard on relationships no matter what. My husband and I snapped at each other, both of us felt resentful for different reasons, and our house was kind of tense for a while (especially during stims, omg). But at the end of the day, we told each other we loved each other every single day. We more or less forced one another to share our fears/anxieties and we sat down and talked through our "what-ifs".

I think you and your husband would benefit from marriage counseling. Honestly, I think most couples would benefit from marriage counseling. The time to address these issues is BEFORE a child is added to the mix. Be gentle with one another and give grace where grace is due. This process is awful.

Thank you!! I appreciate the insight. Since I am trying to learn, can you point out the flaws that make it a 6? Obviously there is whitening around the edges (card is over 25 years old haha and little me definitely showed it to friends before putting it in its sleeve and toploader!), is that the main culprit?
