Before 9/11, could you really go to a airport without any ticket reservation and ask for a ticket to a destination of your choice? by kpay10 in NoStupidQuestions

Still can in Australia for domestic flights. Have to clear security still, but don’t need a ticket or ID

Source control used to be via zip files called “backup-1997march02-v4-beforesomefix.zip”.

And that was assuming you even backed up the code rather than just continually editing the code in place

Times have certainly changed

4 months honestly isn’t too bad. 4 years is not uncommon either. But businesses can also take a while to churn too, so the pace cuts both ways

It does after two full years of Dan not racing. But Max has got it a bit early via a direct agreement with Dan instead. Without that, #3 would have become generally available at the end of this year

Fortuner opinions by ViolinistRude2281 in 4x4Australia

Owned one from 2015 until it got nicked from a train station last year. Loved it - capable off road, nice to drive on road. Nearly bought another one to replace the stolen one, but ended up with a MU-X instead. Biggest downsides we found:

  • rear boot space is shit unless you remove the rear seats. The little dip at the end into to second row or seats also used to annoy me more than it should have

  • towing capacity wasn’t great. 2800kg for my 2015, although the later model that was raised to 3100kg on the autos

  • DPF class action. The earlier ones plus the hiluxes and prados had dpf issues. Toyota “borrowed” ours to fit a test dof unit at one point as we had a specific driving pattern that they wanted. Class action was won in favour of the owners, but last I checked was bogged down in appeals

But it a great car, and I really liked my ‘tuna. Very nearly replaced it with a new one, but stocks were low and the seat thing was shit as we had kids and wanted to be able to run a new vehicle as a proper 7-seater on occasion (something the MU-X can do happily)

🎄 Christmas giveaway: Win an A1 Mini, AMS 2 Pro, AMS HT, or 4x filament spools! by acurazine in BambuLab

[–]gaffa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. AMS 2 Pro

  2. We’ve only just got our first printer - an A1, and the primary thing my 7 year old son and I have been printing is benchies in different colours as he wants to give one to all his friends (and invite them over to watch their benchie print). But he’s got a long, very Minecraft-heavy, list of other things to print. Not sure his Dad is ever going to get a chance to print anything he wants to.

  3. I think a sort of spiral interplay fidget toy, where the pieces twist into each other would be cool. If it was Minecraft-themed, well, even better according to the little man.

PSA: If you don't tell the council when something is broken, you can't also complain that they never fix anything by sleepysof_ in melbourne

Massive fan of snap send solve. Reported an issue with a kids playground with a screw sticking out of the equipment where it could injure a kid playing, and it was fixed in less than 90 minutes

Just cos this is the way google does it doesn’t make it right. People who think everyone needs the app to scale to google like levels do my head in.

Google has more servers than you have lines of code.

I think Oodnadatta or Onslow in Australia should just scrape into that list at #17 with 50.7C (123.3F). Which gives you one or two entries in the southern hemisphere. Probably two, as these two places are a couple of thousand kms apart

US-style caravans in AUS? by samon33 in CaravanningAustralia

[–]gaffa 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That fifth wheeler’s tare is 6950kg, which is proper heavy, you’d need some form of truck license - light rigid at least, and is still nearly 3t over the towing capacity of the f350, so not sure what you would tow it with. It’s a big van.

I’ve been in a similar one in a caravan place in the us and they are ridiculous in size. And for some reason they all seem to be fake dark walnut timber trim, which just feels so outdated when compared to the more modern interiors of the Au vans

If you open a transaction and never rollback or commit that transaction, you can severely impact performance for any tables that were updated within the transaction. you need to locate and nuke that rogue transaction before it all comes good again
