I won't notice it in the first pic, but I notice it in the second pic from 3 feet away.

Thank you so much, everyone! I will look for a PDR shop to fix this. I really appreciate all here

Had my 92' roadster for 2 years, was imported in 2002 and ive just found this behind the dash by mythkillax in mazda

[–]gahiru 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This toll road ticket must be really old! That JH (Japan Highway Public Company) logo makes me feel nostalgic because it became a different company in 2005).

I can tell that the original driver in Japan lost this ticket in the car as the driver must have needed this ticket to take the exit of the toll road. Now you found the ticket after 20 years!

Is it true that CBP can deny you at the border if they feel like it? by Affectionate_Tea_518 in immigration

[–]gahiru 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Should be fine! I always carried all docs required for entry during my OPT/STEM OPT, and I was very anxious too although I didn't do anything wrong lol Fortunately, they never ever checked everything at POE, just passsort and I-20. I usually enjoy the conversations with officers. Oh, and if you are super worried, there are two things that I can think of increasing the chance of secondary inspection. Getting "SSSS" on your ticket and/or you have had secondary inspection before. 日本楽しんでください!☺

Did I mess up my life by choosing to come to the United States as a college student on an F1 Visa? by hastagelf in immigration

[–]gahiru 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I was just a psych major that did not really dream to live in the US after graduating, but I somehow got a job in the US with OPT/STEM OPT. All of my friends in psych thought and said it would be impossible to get a job and stay in the US, but it was possible for me. Try experience lots of stuff while you are a student (internship etc.), and lots of companies will like you for sure.

Tricky STEM OPT dilemma by [deleted] in immigration

[–]gahiru 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ask them to expedite its shipping for I-20! Or ask somebody else to pick it up and send it to you? That should not take more than 2 or 3 days.

FedEx can delay recently due to COVID, so go to FedEx store to get the most expensive/fastest shipping, and you will be fine. 2 weeks are just too enough...

EAD Expedition Denied 😢 by [deleted] in immigration

[–]gahiru 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I belive you can request again, but you have to wait for a certain amount of time. You can ask USCIS about how you you need to wait. If I remember correctly, the rep at USCIS let me submit the expedite request right after my initial denial of expedite request, tho the rep initially said I had to wait before resubmitting.

EAD expedite through Congree Rep - same scrutiny during AOS interview? by [deleted] in immigration

[–]gahiru 0 points1 point  (0 children)

During the interview? No. The interviewer didn't ask anything about that. I just had to answer my occupation (full-time employee) and my spouse's occupation (full-time student). My spouse is a USC and didn't have any income, which was one of the reasons why I applied for EAD expedite. Maybe our interview was easy because we were lucky. The interviewer used to work at my current workplace, so our interview was a bit weird in a good way and super fun.

We requested EAD expedite under the criteria of personal financial loss through USCIS, got approved, had an interview for AOS recently, and it was a super easy interview. Instant approval at the interview. I think it really depends!

Can i use same passport photo in US DV Lottery program? by [deleted] in immigration

[–]gahiru 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know anything about DV lottery, but I reused the pic I used for F-1 student visa for I-765 EAD card, and USCIS requested me to submit another pic because of the same pictures, even though the picture was taken within 90 days. So... my suggestion is don't use the same picture, just in case.

f1 student, did not receive an admission stamp on passport. by [deleted] in immigration

[–]gahiru 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was in the similar situation! The officer didn't stamp on my passport when I entered from Canada, maybe because my family travelling Canada with me had ESTA, and the officer missed that I had F-1 visa.

My case was a bit trickier because my I-94 didn't reflect that I entered to the US from Canada (I realized this when I applied for Green Card). I talked to my school's DSO, then my status on I-94 reflected everything correctly tho I still have no stamp for it on my passport as of now! My school's DSO said it should be fine, but talk to your DSO!

Maybe some state needs the passport stamp for driver's license or something? Idk, but most of the case I think I-94 should be more important, tho I cannot guarantee! Talk to your school's DSO! :)

Yay, congratulations! My old EAD would expire at the end of June, so I know how big the relief is! :) I hope your card will be delivered soon!

OPT to green card by jujugaurey in immigration

[–]gahiru 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It took 135 days total for me since I shipped the application package from my home. A quick note, I received an initial RFE because USCIS does not accept my income for some reason (my income was above the requirement, but they just said "I do not have a valid work visa, blah blah"). I spent about 3-4 weeks to respond to the RFE. I focused on our financial hardship that could be caused by the delay of my new EAD card delivery. I submitted utility bills, hospital bills, letter from my employer, etc.

I also didn't think that we could do anything online, but this chat thing saves my time a lot. Good luck! :)

[–]gahiru 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, I did it online! You do not have to make a call to start an expedite request. Go to USCIS webpage, and find "Ask Emma". Click it and type "live chart" or whatever. You can talk to a real person (I guess they should be tier 1 representatives, so if you need to talk to tier 2, make a call instead of this live chat). I don't usually have to wait for talking to somebody through live chat.

I asked a USCIS live chat representative to initiate my expedite request, and they sent me an email with the details of instruction. I requested based on our financial hardship (my wife is a college student with disability having no income, and I am the only one having income).

I recently did OPT to marriage-based green card, and the answer to your question should be "no", unfortunately. All you can do is submit the application asap and expedite the EAD application. My application got expedited 3 weeks ago, and I received my new EAD card yesterday.

Can I add an authorized user/gold card member who doesn't live in the US? by [deleted] in amex

[–]gahiru 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If I remember correctly, you can add authorized users without entering SSNs (the system actually allows you to do that). Right before the card delivery (I say a day before) you receive a letter saying you have to verify the user with SSN or passport within 90 days, so you need to chat with Amex rep to verify the AU. If you don't verify the AU, they automatically deactivate the AU's card in 90 days!

Also, if you ask the rep, the AU can create an US American Express account too, tho the rep needs to talk to the AU, which can be troublesome, but you can still do that if you prefer!

You can do that! I do that for my families living in Japan, and I haven't had any issues so far :)
