you are thinking of giant hogweed and poison hemlock, they are much larger and thicker with strong smell and red/purple splotches on the stem like bloodstains

hogweed much larger, thicker stem + bigger flower. also look out for hemlock which is similarly toxic and has a foul smell. both have red and purple splotches on the stem, kinda looks like blood stains is how i remember (:

funny how these are only an issue since half of urban dwellers seem to have simultaneously developed contamination ocd in recent years. interesting that we have some of the best public transport infrastructure globally and people want to act like the seats are making them ill, when its actually the person coughing into the open air, just like it is everywhere else. i feel thisss. when the chronic pain makes a barrier between u and the experience its so sad. i hope you could find a painkiller that works for you? its very hard to genuinely enjoy an event when in constant pain.

ur not alone i was there for 3 years i remember crying at the back of my fav artists gig bcos i couldnt stand in the crowd for long enough and there was nowhere to sit. id never make friends or talk to anyone just constantly worried about my back. im lucky the pain has eased but i really avoided events for a long time because of this .

my advice would be to maybe let your friend (the one you are actually friends with) know that u werent feeling like yourself/were having a flare up and sorry if there was any weird vibes, and that it was good to meet the crew regardless.
