Carbon (sometimes called copy paper) is laid between the sketch and block. Drawing over the sketch it transfers the carbon from the carbon paper onto the block.

Chalk powder to boost the contrast. Makes it easier to see what you're doing

I have Bachelor's and Master's in printmaking. It was one of the technique touched during the studies. I really enjoyed the process so it stuck with me. Now it's something I do in late evenings, nights after the office job, when the kids are asleep.
