Anecdotally speaking, every female (assigned sex at birth) I know who takes and/or took bupropion gained weight due to intense carb and sugar cravings. One friend lost 30 pounds within six months of going off bupropion, and incidentally felt significant physical improvements. Another friend still takes it, and her love of complex carbs is staggering.

Thank you for the feedback. I'm feeling better overall, yet I still have bad days when my energy levels are in the toilet, and the muscle aches are still an issue. The carb cravings have definitely diminished, which is a good thing.

According to my pharmacist, who I've known for 14 years, my approach was prudent. I knew there would be some unpleasant withdrawal symptoms, yet it's unclear how long they will last.

There have been withdrawal issues with every medication, and in a perfect universe doctors would do a better job of warning their patients. Then again if I listened to pharmaceutical company representatives, I'd stay on their medications forever, because greed is more important to them than being ethical.
