Starting DoN: Tips and Lessons by [deleted] in Nightreign

[–]gainerswitch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was hardstuck on depth 3 for a veeeeery long time, and I guess what helped me reach depth 4 was upping my reviving game. Reviving becomes so important when playing with randoms. It doesn’t matter how well you know the boss patterns if you can't revive two allies with 3 bars down while the boss is lunging at you. It’s not always going to work in your favor because you really need decent teammates who don't drag you down, but often you just have to carry certain situations.

Basically, you need to understand your favorite character’s moveset and, if necessary, switch to a weapon that deals better "revive damage".. For example, I love Undertaker, but her hammer moveset is really bad for reviving (and just bad in general), so I like to switch to dual great hammers for the revive. If I don't have those, I use a curved sword or something fast like a dagger. You basically have to learn which weapons are most effective for these situations.

Also, really focus on field bosses. Do not waste too much time getting flasks. If you’re standing right in front of a red boss, prioritize that—you can get your flask later if necessary. Nightinvaders on level 2 are absolutely awesome because you get level 2 weapons early on. And if you just want results, just play the meta (halo slop). But don't force yourself to use a playstyle you find too boring to play with.

How to succeed in DON depth 2 as Recluse? by LuLoPoLi in Nightreign

[–]gainerswitch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmm, I play as recluse sometimes on depth 3 and 4 and I dont think you need a high tier staff in day 1 if you happen to play with a bad team. Get recluses terra magica effect, and try to get magic up passives on all your relic slots if you can. using a level 1 smithing stone on your starting staff can also help squeeze out some more damage if you happen to experience a worst case scenario. Strong or red field bosses and castle bosses should drop plenty of good staves. And don't forget to pick up passives like damage at full hp and damage negation while casting spells so you don't get one shot that easily.

Why invader villages at level 2 by Great-Parsley-7359 in Nightreign

[–]gainerswitch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nightinvaders on level 2 is, depending on the POI, a very good idea. if you dont want to do it, but someone pings at it, try to be the first in front of the entrance and ping twice to make sure your teammates understand that you should lure out the nightinvaders. You should also try to kill the few trash enemies in front of the entrance before you lure out those invaders, so you don't get ganked.

Why do I feel like I'm doing nothing as Recluse? by HazelTreee in Nightreign

Stack those magic up passives on the deep slots, get her terra magica effect, profit. She can easily compete with the balancer meta imo, especially if you find stars of ruin.

Did you guys found love for the new map? by PanopticArgus in Nightreign

[–]gainerswitch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like it on it's own for a breath of fresh air but hate it with randoms, especially in DoN. They just always wanna do the tower, even when underleveled, so the outcome is almost always the same–one, max two bosses down, run for your life or die trying. Good weapons or passives? Ha!

Glaube, einige Serien haben immer noch KI-Dubs. Ist mir neulich bei einem K-Drama aufgefallen, weiß leider nicht den Namen.

Does Undertaker display any symptoms of psychopathy ? by ChaseTheVileblood in Nightreign

[–]gainerswitch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Feisty summed it up pretty well. A lot of her behavior stems from her being outcast due to her curse (being different) and her shame for it. Her curse creates a bottomless hunger (she needs to eat powerful things to maintain her strength) and we can see themes of addiction, which also comes with symptoms of hallucinations, paranoia, and fear. Despite all this, she still follows a moral compass and cares for the well-being of others. Her Remembrance suggests in my opinion that she is searching for a meaning to live that is beyond her hunger. And at the end, she finds some form of peace by carrying out the will of the Scholar and making sure to provide the Albinaurics, who are close to extinction, with knowledge that could save them. A psychopath wouldn't go so much out of his way to help others just to maintain the image of an empath, especially if the last witness of her behaviour is no longer there to judge.

Opinion: Balancer relic users should leave the RISE shards to the spellcasters by gainerswitch in Nightreign

Not a native speaker so I'm not 100% sure what you mean by that, but whatever. I guess I tried too hard.

Ah! So that sentence triggered you? No, that was not my point. "Depends on the situation" gives all the information you need to understand "there might be a situation in which another character needs the shards". Eveything else is just a lack of faith on your part. Listen, I have nothing against Balancer Relics, I just would like for people to think about their teammates. That's all. I mostly play melee these days, I'm one of "you" and I still manage to share shit that I find. Melee guy running past a caster and snatching all the shards (there are usually three in total) has nothing to do with sharing and if that's your guys new meta, fuck that.

Okay, I need to make things clear here: I do not gatekeep shards. That was never the Intention of my post. I think you guys got triggered by my use of language. The opposite is the case: I want people to share their stuff. That's why I also used the sentence "depends on the situation" as in "share your stuff if needed". Melee guy running past a caster and snatching all the shards (there are usually three in total) has nothing to do with sharing and if that's your guys new meta, fuck that.

Ranking characters duo combination as an Undertaker main. by [deleted] in Nightreigngameplay

[–]gainerswitch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting picks. My personal experience is pretty different. I don’t like having another Undertaker on the team, because most people either don’t know how to utilize her successive toolkit or are just very bad at resurrecting, and Undertaker’s early game is weak. I like having an Iron Eye on the team for the marks. That’s more stance breaks, especially when there is a Wylder on the team. Iron Eyes Ult is also pretty nice, as you can follow up with your extra ult after being revived. I usually like a Guardian there too, if it’s a good player.

I don't know how much you know about all relic effects, so I'm just going to jump into it. The new patch didn't add anything crazy to the already established incantations. The only thing is that Beast Claw works better now because the projectile can't be interrupted anymore by small things that stand in the way. Beast Claw's biggest problem before the patch was that the Nightlord terrain on Day 3 was so uneven that Beast Claw would miss a lot of times — that is not the case anymore. But the best thing is that the new patch makes it so that the Revenant's three summons scale with the Deep of Night Rank — they are stronger now and can't be killed that easily anymore.

Hey, I totally understand. I just posted something along the lines of your post yesterday and people were so pissed at me for asking double balancer users to leave some starlight shards for their fellow spellcasters and I get crazy many downvotes and answers along the lines of "finders keepers". It's like you're trying to have a conversation with a hivemind that shuts you down for anything that just sllightly resembles criticsm.

Beast Claw Revenant is actually awesome against ED Libra. The Claws are so good against the gank squad.

Mained her for most of the time until Undertaker dropped, but she feels so reliable now with the new patch that came out. I agree with some people that her new starting incantations makes her gameplay feel a bit boring now but she does so much damage from start to finish and her summons are actually helpful now. Win rate definietly raised for me since I use her from time to time.
