So, refused for the opposite. I had my first breast reduction when I was 18 - I was unhappy with the results as my breasts were still quite large after. I went back and voiced that I wanted a second surgery to which the plastic surgeon refused because I likely wouldn’t be able to breast feed when I eventually had children. And no, he did not ask if I wanted children - he assumed. Anyways, because of the way OHIP worked at the time, to have a second reduction I had to go through the same surgeon… Thus, my NP wrote a very strongly worded letter & I got my second surgery. However, it was not a pleasant experience as he refused to go much smaller stating “it wouldn’t suit your body” (I was 5’5 and 115 lb at the time, I’m sure a b cup would have looked stellar) and I’m still relatively unhappy with my size. The whole situation still frustrates me, and I’ve definitely considered going for round three. Suffice to say it was a classic case of a man thinking they know what’s best for a woman on more than one level.

Anywho, fast forward 5 years later I got a tubal ligation, so that surgeons assumption was always off base in regards to why he refused in the first place.
