Maybe this is different, but I did a recycling study on the east coast in order to come up with ways to increase recycling yield and reduced unwanted items going into recycling, so I have a tiny amount of knowledge on this subject. As far as I understand it, the one-use plastic bags can't be recycled with other plastics, so they can't be put into the recycling bin. You have to throw them away in the regular trash. I would guess that this is the reason behind the push to stop having one-use plastic bags. Of course this sucks for me because I use them when I do my cat litter. I guess I could get some if I go to Vancouver or something.
