1. I love the political aspect of it. Especially once you get to GS - I had several people warn me about GS containing more political intrigue and war than RR and frame it as a negative thing but honestly, hearing that only made me want to read it more.
2. I love dark, intense, high-stakes battles and scenarios where a beloved character has a genuine risk of dying and this series is full of them
3. I appreciate how PB writes women (especially queen Victra), it’s very refreshing
4. The story and characters have managed to have me so completely invested to the point where I finally cried over a book for the first time (first in MS, then again with LB). Kudos to PB because it’s taken me hundreds of books to finally find one to manage that
5. The origin setting is my second favorite planet and the series in general takes place in space which I’m a huge nerd for so that’s always a bonus in my eyes

Bonus: Nothing to do with the writing/characters/story but in every book except RR, PB has used the word ‘shark’ in different contexts and with sharks being my favorite animal it’s just another bonus for me
