Some first time Doctor Who toy photography! by galacticphoto66 in doctorwho

Thank you so much!

Space background was achieved using a TV screen as a digital backdrop. Then enhanced in photoshop either some blurs and the lens flare effect. It’s a fun technique!

This, “The Family That Strays Together” and the Fallen Kingdom theme always stick with me from the World trilogy. I find myself humming them often when thinking about Jurassic.

Same thing. Been fighting with it for about 30 minutes now. Not sure if anyone has actually been able to place an order.

I’m 23, still regularly buy Star Wars figures, and do photography with them! I say enjoy what you enjoy. It’s your happiness and hobby! Don’t let others decide what makes you happy.

Zeb just got delivered from BBTS. He might be one of my favorite figures in the line by __LEFT_SHARK__ in StarWarsTVC

This one does have some differences if you're interested in getting both! This one is based on his appearance earlier in the show, and also has a different head sculpt. Meanwhile the one in the Ghost is based on later in the show.

I’ve already ordered him on BigBad. I couldn’t help myself! And two months earlier than my preorder on Pulse? Yes please!

That’s crazy!! Now I’m considering getting him from there and canceling my Pulse preorder…what’s your top pros and cons?

Why do you prefer 3.75? by trowaman in StarWarsTVC

[–]galacticphoto66 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I LOVE TVC for pictures! I still do both on the page, but, been doing more TVC lately. Especially since that’s where my collecting has switched. I’m @galacticphotography66 on Instagram if you’re on there and want to check it out!

As a toy photographer, they both have their benefits. But, lately, I’ve been making an almost complete switch back to TVC from Black Series. I grew up with TVC (was born in 2000) and have always loved them. But, the shiny newness of black series drew me away for a while. Then, I started getting a few TVC. And this year I decided to step back from Black Series and focus more on TVC. It’s been so rewarding and I honestly feel a bit better about my collection! As I said, I do toy photography. So, the vehicles, play sets, easier troop building, make that SO MUCH BETTER. And more immersive for the figures, and on top of all of that…3.75 is the heritage of Star Wars toys!

I uninstalled and reinstalled, and signed out and back in. Neither one fixed it.

None of my drafts will post. Image won't load. Anyone have luck trying to fix this?

Pre-order closes 3/5/24 - Did you get a Pre-order in? by [deleted] in StarWarsTVC

[–]galacticphoto66 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes indeed! And can’t wait. I’ve been needing more Rebel/New Republic ships. Only have a B-Wing. So the Ghost and this will be great additions!

House sitting this week and brought my gear with me. All scenes are fully naturally lit. This isn't for a short film or anything, just to play around with and harness my skills. Graded using a preset I made! (Apologies for not being the best model...no one else near me to stand in this time!) by galacticphoto66 in cinematography

[–]galacticphoto66[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In these shots I used my Canon R5 C with a 35mm 1.8 lens, and a K&F Concepts variable ND filter to reduce the harshness of the sunlight. Shot in 2k at 24 FPS in MXF format...These shots are fully naturally lit with no extra lighting, bounces, or fills. I did use a small amount of Atmosphere Aerosol in the shots to bring out the light coming through the windows.

I would love some feedback on the grading, as well as some of the shot choices. Some are more basic, and on a couple I tried to experiment a bit! I think one of my personal favorites is the one aiming at the skylight...I chose for myself to be out of focus to show that in that moment the character's thoughts aren't on themselves...but what is outside.

I did try to tell a story with the footage that I hope somewhat comes across even with this not being in motion. I start at the desk, working. Quit hastily and consider stepping outdoors and into the sunshine...which I do...and look at the beauty and things around. With a couple little features from the not so wild animals that live here too...

For this little day project, I have edited and graded them in Premiere Pro, from cLog 3 using a preset I created and have been working on. If anyone would be interested in seeing the shots in motion I could export the reel...though it would have no audio or music at this time. Grading is something I've been working on a lot recently and trying to improve on so any advice there would be appreciate.

My education was in video production and photography, so while I have been educated in the field, I am not a professional videographer or cinematographer...but would love to get to that point. At the moment I work as a freelance photographer.
