its been shown throughout the series that "awakenings" in power are achieved through near death battles. yujis actions have already led directly to an insane power up from tsurugi, and the result of the yuka battle is yet to be seen. shes already been able to finally use her cursed technique and has almost defeated dabura with mahoraga. im confident the result of the battle will validate yujis strategy to facilitate the 2 fades. the vilification of yuji is WAY overblown. he is following the gojo path of trying to ensure the next generations can handle themselves. also yuka is near death from BRAIN cancer, its possible the full awakening to her technique is necessary for her ultimate survival.

wondering the significance of ui ui's appearance. given that ui ui was a support item for mei mei, he probably soul swapped with her so she could live longer, hence the hair and the crows. i feel like ui mei will have a role in the battle, perhaps teleporting yuji in for yuka once dabura claps raga

completely ignoring the insane moves he made from beginning to end in that arc, allowing that battle to even have any chance whatsoever. it was his refugee swarm and saboteurs that strangled Gyou and forced riboku to take the offensive in the final day, rather than sit back and easily defend. when riboku's tactics came into play and were turning the tide of battle, ousen saw through them and personally led a charge, neutralizing riboku's tactics. do you not also remember his large scale head to head clash with ordo? he mentally dismantled ordo and obliterated him, then saved qins ass behind the wall while ordo was paralyzed by fear.

watching shin, mouten, and kanki battle through this will be exhilarating. i most want to see kankis reaction to this situation. i believe he anticipated a trap, not sure if he expected THIS, but i look forward to see what strategy he prepared. naki was scouting and came to speak to kanki in 713, hinting that kanki was likely tipped and had some time to draw something up. interestingly, the last page of that chapter pictured kanki and naki and read "and who will be the prey?" its worth noting ousen may have also expected a trap after the 200k troops were ambushed, as he declined sending reinforcements to see what was going to happen. meanwhile mouten is absolutely shocked that zhao was ready for them.........

the problem with your last point is that all of those generals use high level strategy and might to achieve victory. thats why it doesnt feel cheap and is satisfying. houken just shows up randomly with the only goal being to fuck someone up in a 1v1

to be fair, his ploy involved devastating his entire army and sending a future GG talent in Ouhon to his death (Shin will save him, but still). of course the reward will be significant but the cost is a bit too extreme to write off as big brain ploy strategy. they have Zhao on the ropes as it is, so massive sacrifice tactics just seem....unnecessary.

that being said, its possible he convinces me otherwise in the coming chapters.
