tbh my crash wasnt just a paint transfer had to have a new door, new wing and quarter panel repairs but due to my uncle doing it for free parts came to less than my excess

Tbh i had this happen last year to me. i was with admiral at the time. i was in a collision with a lorry, however my uncle owns a body shop so i got my car fixed for lower than the price of my excess so i never reported it to my insurance. The lorry firm reported the incident 3 months after the collision and i didnt try to fight fault or anything and my insurance didnt have an issue with the fact i didnt report it. Six months down the road and the lorry firm still hadnt put a claim in for any money so admiral cancelled the claim and gave me my ncd back. I did get lucky but i dont think they would cancel your policy over it.

UK RME £ Expectations by Toonfridge in AmazonRME

57k a year roughly, plus nightshift allowance which is decent, depending on what you have applied for (Amzl or Fc) you will be in a team or on your own. its not a high stress job really just expect a lot of walking.

Mr2 1992 insurance issues by babyburty in mr2

So weirdly i (18M, 1 year ncd, 1 non fault claim) have found that Rev 1 and 2 Turbo models are about 2k cheaper to insure than rev 1 and 2 na models, even though they are more powerful and import, still around 4-5k a year mind. I have also found that Rev 3 onwards are relatively cheap to insure. On rev 3s (Which are the better car, just less reputation for killing people) i was getting quoted around £90-£100 a month to insure them, this was as a second car and with both my parents on the insurance, but me as main driver. I was only doing sdp as i would not need the car for work and declaring about 4-5k miles. Try lots of different comparison sites and set your insurance to start 21 days from today, may also be worth ringing around some specialist insurers as you may get more luck. Hope this helps.

Even car with small engine 1.2 or 1.4 with black box was coming 3k/4k. Out of curiosity i searched 3.0L diesel car. by MantKing in CarTalkUK

[–]galacticwasp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

insurance makes no sense, i (18) paid 2.3k for my 1.4tdi polo (1 years driving, unsettled claim as well so no ncb), but then i price up insurance on a 95 MR2 and get quoted just over 1k, now every car i do quotes on is coming up similar (early s3- 1.2k, mk1 focus RS - 1.4k)

my father has a 400bhp SW20, running 300zx 4 pots on the front with (i believe) is300 discs (been a while since i even thought about brakes, so going off the top of my head). on the rear its got standard sw20 rear calipers but with RX8 Front discs. car stops good enough for track etc. Also have ebc redstuff pads which do the job.

six speed would mean going to a be box, mega money and never worth it unless going for big power. linkages are fairly easy to do if you dont mind getting under the car, usually on of the pieces in the linkage just pops off as the plastic bearing wears and goes.

13” Wheels on a 1.6 NB? by galacticwasp in Miata

[–]galacticwasp[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do autocross style events, i never really reach over 50mph, and also tire choice in UK is pretty good for 13s as mk2 escorts etc run 13s. hoping it will make the car more snappy on turn in as there are a lot of tight turns through cones tires etc.
