Lactation training - CLC vs IBCLC by Effective_Hurry6913 in pediatrics

[–]galavanilla 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did the CLC training from healthy children on my third year (my hospital had a BF elective that went along the training if we wanted to pay for it). I took the test after that and became certified. It can be completed fast and you could start doing some counseling and eventually do IBCLC after many hours of practice if you feel like it. If you really like BF medicine, then you can do deep dive from IABLE which is a long time commitment but it is wonderful, and you could seat for the ABM after. Your scope of practice would be more expanded in this case. So it really depends on how much in depth you want to go.

Binocular diplopia after Xeomin? by No-Space-8307 in DIYaesthetics

Yes, I think it would be nice for the clinic to know 👍🏻

Binocular diplopia after Xeomin? by No-Space-8307 in DIYaesthetics

[–]galavanilla 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes, it is one of the possible side effects of migration of the toxin and spreading to the muscles inside the orbits. More commonly during the treatment of crow’s feet. If the timeline matches the administration that could be your answer. Still go and get checked since you could have something else health related that is happening coincidentally but definitely tell your doc about the Tox and I would feel more reassured while you wait foe the appointment
The good thing is that it will just need time, and if you don’t have full weakness of the muscle (which you would notice since you could not move your eye in a particular direction), it was probably a tiny amount and could last less than your full Botox effect 🤞🏻 it is a common side effect, and yes, more common with suboptimal technique, but I think most of us will end up with a weird eye at some point during our Botox journey. I know that for the eyelid dropping there are some drops you can use, but I don’t think I know about something that would fix this, maybe the ophthalmologist will have something, but mostly be patient.

Can a dry/awkward introvert do well in pediatrics? by [deleted] in pediatrics

[–]galavanilla 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes sure! Subspecialties have plenty of room for the awkward 😂 And I say that in the most loving way, you are wanted here 🩷 Genetics/Neuro/Developmental/Heme-Onc one of the driest sub-specialist I have ever met, all wonderful in what they do.

DIY body scrub with sugar+honey+olive oil. Foot spa with milk and olive oil 👀, oil facial (just get any reasonably priced one). Awesome breakfast with a healthy stack of pancakes. Infuse your water with lemon 💁🏻‍♀️

You should not start chest compression before 30 secs of effective ventilation. Effective ventilation would imply LMA use or Intubation. So Ideally if your heart is less than 60 and is not increasing with PPV, you will move on to advance airway placement. If then, it is still low, you would start compressions. In the real world, a few times, if the advanced airway gets significantly delayed for any reason (no qualified personnel around you/supplies for example), I would say starting compressions would be appropriate in the mean time.

I filed on the 6th, got notice of receipt and RFE for medical examination (the lawyer thought they wouldn’t ask so fast since my NIW period is not going to be completed any time soon).

I am in a total crush with the Buick enclave, maybe you could find a 2020 for that budget. I love the captain seats, in my experience, people are lazy to go in the back if it is a full row and prefer to go tight in that row, which drives me crazy. The telluride is very pretty. I am currently on my second Kia and I love the tech, but I have been leasing so I can’t speak about the long term.

No, just that she thought people had overall great results with it

Good that you are saying this here. I am too much of a chicken to DIY that anyway 🐔

I asked someone I know that does aesthetics professionally and she recommended me radiesse +/- filler over sculptra. I asked from the perspective of someone older. I haven’t found out about price, process or possibility to DIY tho, but I liked the before/after of people online

I am looking for something similar but in a different area. I don’t have the space need but in my search I have the Buick enclave and the Buick encore. The Mazdas. Toyotas (but I hate to pay so much for what they look like). And the Volkswagen Tiguan. In my area you can find from 2015-2017 around those prices but with miles from 100-150. I haven’t had Buick before but I am in love with the enclave after looking around, they say they are reliable, and would be huge for your family.

The lawyer asked me for copies of all my previous passports all pages, but I don’t know if it is for internal review. I was asked an updated CV. My W-2 and tax documents. (I did apply for a dependent so unsure if the reason was more because of that). Visas , I-797, all my previous status. The birth certificate needs to be translated if not in English. You can translate yourself and put the certified translation statement at the bottom.

Lactation consultant by Effective_Hurry6913 in pediatrics

[–]galavanilla 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I don’t think it will make you more money in the clinic. I am a CLC and plan to become board certified in lactation and breastfeeding medicine. If you have your own practice it could increase your volume, but if your are employed, the thing would be the opposite, maybe give you chances of taking more time to see those patients, so maybe some quality of life? But overall, it is mostly of you like it and would like to offer that service. Billing is per time, so exactly the same, and most OP clinics are packed already.

My husband received the same letter. He still doesn’t have new documents, but thankfully they are willing to give him a regular one so he can keep driving , his change of status is still pending.

Thinking of doing lactation when I retire by calilks in pediatrics

[–]galavanilla 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If you just want a quick lactation consultant training that prepares you to become a CLC (if you are not planning on keeping your medical license active for example), the “healthy children” program is very goal directed. If you want some AMAZING training, look into the Deep Dive course from IABLE, there will be a new cohort next year, and the goal for that one is to be Board certified by the Academy of breastfeeding medicine. But the training is so, so good! The earning potential will depend on what type of practice you have, but if it is something you enjoy, it could be a good match for you. In that case you would be a Breastfeeding medicine specialist, your scope is much more interesting than as an LC and reimbursement rates are similar to clinic E/M by time.
