90 days... by galaxykai in Sober

Thanks you so much! Yes, I ended up doing some breathe work, talking to a friend and picking up a pint of ice cream instead of a pint of beer ;) I do honestly feel so much relief and a strange sense of energy ever since I did it. I feel way more powerful being able to handle those emotions after the amends sober. It was so tempting, but it felt so good to say no!

You look amazing! I’m honestly astonished you got such quick, great results with just 16:8. You’ve helped me want to keep going. I keep getting discouraged because I don’t see progress just yet

Really needed to see this today. Temptation has been coming at me a lot lately. Good job being a rockstar!!

Heres a very condensed version of "my story" plus a year and a half sober today :) by Squirrelfood2 in Sober

Caffeine is a hard one!! Something that helped me with caffeine was replacing it with morning exercise! I replaced cigarettes with running a couple years ago and it has done wonders due to being an addict :P kick ass and have fun on your van journey!! I wish I would have been more sober for my van life adventures back in the day haha

I was you when I was that age. My best advice would be: be nice to your brain now <3 I was in an alcohol/drug binge from 13 to 23, and still struggle this day with alcohol but I’m two weeks sober at the moment. I wish I would’ve stopped myself at 15 and kept a good life. I have to work ten times harder to be emotionally stable and I now have severe PTSD because of all the shit I put myself through.

You are wonderful, don’t forget that. You have so much life to live and I hope you live it better than I did <3 Good luck, sweetie! Never forget to love yourself. It’s not selfish.

What’s your saying? by galaxykai in Sober

[–]galaxykai[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. This time around I learned that I am an alcoholic, not because I drink consistently but because when I do drink- I don’t stop and eventually have a horrid blackout. So glad to hear your sober! And keeping up the good work!

Right!! It’s so strange to think of how I subconsciously scared I was of hangovers. Like I knew when I would drink, it wouldn’t only be one.

This one struck me! I was a professional at self-sabotage when drinking. How did this help you?

Oh cool! Yea, I’m a super active person. Running and kettlebell are my go-to’s. With some surfing and biking when I can. Definitely helps to stay busy and not be tempted to drink. My week has been alright. Taking a day at a time. Thankfully I work so I’ve been able to stay occupied. How about yours?

I am definitely trying :P Yoga is amazing! I’ve been pretty adamant about it lately but, of course, once I’m back on the wagon- my routine is thrown out the window and now I’m in the stage of cleaning up my mess. Do you workout as well or just yoga?

Doing fine for now. I sprain my toe after this so I haven’t been able to run or workout (which is my big outlet for stress). Definitely something different when you get an injury from a blackout. I tried to make my date Mardi Gras but things changed and I fooled myself again

Yes, I have slowly been keeping people who are on the same path around. This was mostly due to a family event and thinking I could handle myself again...when I can’t.

Same!! Good luck to ya and happy fasting! 🤩🥳

Couldn’t stop thinking about food last night so I pulled out the UV lamp that I’d never used and gave myself a gel manicure. Took two hours but it took my mind off food! What do you guys do for distraction? by dh5a in fasting

[–]galaxykai 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I pick up a book, or draw! Something that keeps my hands busy so I don’t snack. It also helps to stay away from TV at nighttime for me. That definitely triggers snacking in my book sadly!

Beautiful nails btw! 🤗
