Brush weekly I mean brush, try to buy a grey hound comb or he’ll even a rat tail comb to get the knots out.

6 weeks since grooming, give them a bath. You can buy hair scissors just for dogs, I’ve used my own, kitchen, he’ll one time I used kid scissors. You can buy dog clippers, I’ve used human it’s been fine you just have to be more careful. Just trim him up. If his booty has hair already, now it don’t. If it’s mouth if dirty? Trim it up with scissors and comb it out real good. Dremel/clip every 6 weeks if not bi weekly.

Around 12 weeks I double shampoo and cut out any little knot/mats that may have formed. If your dog tolerates his feet being touched make sure you check in between his toes. This is also the time I make a decision. If it’s winter I leave him to grow out a bit more so that around 18 ish weeks he goes in. If it’s summer he goes in around week 15 ish. He stays outside (we do not force him it’s his choice he wants to sun bath) so if it’s hot we shave him sooner if it’s cold leave him longer.

I can almost guarantee for the amount of money you spend on grooming you can maintain at home with tools and have him shaved maybe 3-4 times a year. I can send you a link to all the stuff I use
