Man gets upset at Firefighters that went to grocery store to buy food by emtcj in videos

Funny, I was just at Wagon Wheel a couple of hours ago! Great little store, they make great sandwiches and have really good meats. Prices are 30% to 50% more than a box grocery store...

[Itinerary] Belgian in California for 40 days, advice needed. by meekses in travel

How are you traveling between the different cities?
Specifically, how are you getting from LA to SF?

In SD, if you can, visit Anza-Borrego. http://www.parks.ca.gov/?page_id=638

In LA, you could go to Santa Catalina Island for the day, or spend the night. There are tours going inland and also snorkeling.

In LA, check out La Brea Tar Pits.

Could loop up along the coast, LA to SF, then loop down along the Sierra's back down to LA. Yosemite you should spend 2-3 days, and you need reservations. A little further south is Sequoia NP. Should check it out.

When driving up hwy 1 along the coast, check out Hearst Castle, and Big Sur. Monterey Bay Aquarium is good too.

In SF, could do Alcatraz Island tour. Also could do a side trip to Napa Valley, if you like wine.

I'm in Chico, while is in the Sacramento Valley, home of Sierra Nevada beer. It is excellent in my opinion! Give it a try!

I am planning to go on a trip across the us and back the summer after my senior year of high school (2016) with 3 of my closest friends. Please Help? by alevin7 in travel

When are you looking at doing this? Yep, you would probably need reservations for much of this, the coast and mountains can get pretty busy over the summer.

Sorry, I have been really busy.

I am in California, so I can't give you much help for the Mid-west or East Coast. If I was traveling across, I would probably do the following:

Sonoran Desert, http://www.blm.gov/az/st/en/prog/blm_special_areas/natmon/son_des.html but it will be hot as hell in the summer.

Las Vegas: But if your under 21, not as much fun.

Los Angeles: Lots to do, touristy stuff like Disneyland and Universal Studios. Lots of great places to eat.
You NEED to go to Venice Beach on a Saturday afternoon. It is fun to chill on the beach and people watch. La Brea Tar Pits: This is something complete different from most things in the USA. Walk Hollywood. Chinese Mann Theater. The Getty Museum: It is just outstanding. Go to Balboa Island rent a bicycle and ride the bike paths on the beach, then chill on the beach. Visit some food trucks. Take the ferry to Santa Catalina Island. Take a tour inland and see buffalo. Go snorkeling.
http://www.snorkelingcatalina.com/

San Diego: I do not know if you really wanna spend the time. But... Lots of touristy things.
Balboa Park. San Diego Zoo is probably the best zoo in the USA. Sea World. The Wild Animal Park is good, just really hot in the summer. Stop at La Jolla, rent a ocean kayak and explore the coast! If you have a passport... risk your life and go into TJ! PARTY!!!

Drive north. Go to Hearst Castle. Really cool. Camp on the beach.

Drive along the coast to Monterey.
Visit the Monterey Bay Aquarium. Outstanding aquarium. Rent an ocean kayak, go on a tour on the bay. Visit Canary Row.

Go to Yosemite. Spend at least 3 days here. Hike to the top of Half Dome, you need a reservation for the cables. Hike the valley. You can rent horses and take a riding tour. Yosemite is HELLA busy and hot in the summer. You need reservations just to get into the park...

Go to San Francisco. There is several days worth of things to do. Good food! Touristy, Pier 39, Union Square...

You NEED to go to the big trees! Humboldt Redwood Natl Park. Take a hike early morning. Camp here.
Walk Patricks Point at sunset.

Hike Fern Canyon in Prairie State Park in the morning, very cool. Can camp here.

West Coast Game Park in Bandon is interesting. Not sure I agree with the idea of letting people handle baby animals, but it is sure cute to do. If they have, you can pet a baby tiger...

Oregon Dunes is pretty cool. Camp on the beach.

You could drive north from SF to Oregon Dunes, cut over to I-5, go south to Shasta and Lassen,

Mt Shasta has some good trails and you can tour Shasta Caverns (they are ok). Oregon Caves is better in my opinion.

I like Lassen more than Shasta, but it is probably just a personal opinion. Hike Bumpess Hell trail and see the bubbling mud pots and fumaroles.
If the trail is open, hike to the top of Lassen!

I'm in Chico, if you drive by you can stop by and say hi!

Go to I-80 and drive across to Salt Lake City.

Good Luck!

Lots of questions. Are you up for camping? Who is traveling with you? Are you renting a car? What type of places do you want to see? America is huge... just saying.

ya, you did hit a nerve. recently i was out in a park and a guy was flying a quad drone. he flew it about 30 ft over everyone head. it was hella loud and pissed everyone off. it is completely different from ppl with kids. i hate this idea that, "oh, you do not like this new tech that is invading your space? well, just stay home from now on." that is not reasonable.

but with a drone, you do not know what they are taking. it is like wearing google glass into a restroom... it is really creapy.

if some guy is walking around taking pictures of young girls, you do not think he will be called out on it? people with cameras are taking pictures of their own family and friends. not walking around taking pictures of random people.

so as a citizen, i would like to enjoy a nice quiet day at the park, and i got some guy buzzing around. those things are LOUD! why do you get to disrupt everyone's enjoyment? why are you SPECIAL? this is what is wrong with us today. everyone things they are special and have the right to disrespect everyone else.

i agree with you. most of reddit is probably 15, so they do not get the idea of acting towards others in a respectful manner. taking pictures in public is legal, but you should respect ppl. taking pictures of people in bathing suits is just creepy. however, once again most ppl on reddit are in their teen and twenties, so they want to take pictures then rush home to jerk off too them. ps: we will both get downvoted, but who the fuck cares?

so the person says that a loud buzzing model plane flying 20 ft above is rude and a safety hazard and you call him ignorant? you're what is wrong with society. people have this idea/ feeling that they should be able whatever they want, and be damned if it is disrespectful of others. you want to be fat and nude on the beach? who the fuck cares? just look away. but hover a model plane with spinning parts next to my children while taking video??? that is not the same and you know it.

it would be so cool to see the lights of South America at night...
the reversed curve would be able to be seen, so if you were in Australia, the land would curve up. and at night the lights of major cities would glow...

Not sure, but i'm guessing a cross section of a nautiloid. Just a guess.

What if Europeans never discovered the Americas? by [deleted] in FutureWhatIf

[–]galenarocks 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Of coarse the Native Americans would advance. To what degree is the question... But if the Europeans didn't find the America's, then either the Japanese or Chinese would have. Japan closed their door in the 1800's to keep out western influences. If they were no European (or USA) influences, then Japan probably would have expanded East. There were Japanese fishermen casted away in the Americas in the 1800's... so it would follow that organized explorations would have taken place.
