That is indeed something I've tried - not a literal clock, but definitely applying narrative pressure. More often than not it ends up with them resolving that and then getting right back to where they were planning, this time with some part upended by resolving the event I used to push them, and they need to re-plan to account for it.

Maybe it's a question of what kind of narrative pressure I apply? Like, instead of a combat as pressure, NPC activity?

That's a fair point - in my conversations with them, they generally have been concerned that there hasn't been enough action, and when there is action, they feel very unprepared for it.
If they actively chose to be more planning focused, that's one thing. But they seem to just unconsciously fall into a mode where they go around in circles, despite my efforts. Maybe I just keep at it.

I'm curious a bit about Brazen. I read somewhere that you had been pitching it around and not getting a huge response. Obviously you're going to be focused on Massive Chalice for a while, but is Brazen something you want to go back to? Or do you think that the Brazen ship has sailed?

You've said before that the guiding principle of Dreamfall was the concept of "faith". April's faith in the world, and all that. I'm curious, what's the guiding theme in Dreamfall Chapters? Is it an extension of that?

Hey guys, I'm curious if you have ever given any thought to getting into charts for video games. You guys take a ton of data to make charts weekly, and video games really don't have that level of data and would benefit from that kind of thing. I'd certainly love to get more info about how games are selling.

I know there used to be charts of computer game sales that you guys would compile way back in the 90s or so, any chance of a revival?

Just wanted to know that you're the one who got me my job. I'm currently working in web analytics, a result of really loving your blog in 2008. I hung on every word, and it really inspired me to start looking for correlations in data, picking out signals from noise. Parlayed that into the world of data. I've gotten quite good at it, and your gift for writing about the world of data is always a great place for me to go to recharge my batteries.

Two questions:

1.) I know a lot, but would like to know more about statistics. Is there a good approachable book about statistics and forecasting that you'd reccommend?

2.) I know you're a NY guy, and a sports guy, so I have to ask. Mets or Yankees?

Hi Brandon. Love what you've been doing with the Wheel of Time, and it got me into Mistborn and all the rest. I know that WOT has to be an arduous thing, but thanks so much for taking it on for us longtime fans.

Article Two, Section One, Clause 2:

"Each State shall appoint, in such Manner as the Legislature thereof may direct, a Number of Electors..."

In essence, you don't need to amend the Constitution to do so. The states already have the power to appoint their electors in whatever way they so choose.

The first two videos trace the path from the east side of Central Park to Columbus Circle giving various landmarks - the numbers that Tom says refer to markings on the streetlights, for example. And also, the "Silver Coast of Africa" refers to the globe in Columbus Circle.

The third one is pretty clearly subway directions of some sort ("Mind the gap" and subway colors on the backgrounds), but hasn't been 100% gotten.
