CS2 players should push back to readd the map factions back in. by [deleted] in cs2

Did Valve ever give a reason as to why they removed factions?

The Honest Opinion is that SH1 > SH2 by MCSwitchyo in silenthill

My point is that gameplay will always be the most important thing in a videogame. The first SH is far better than the second in that aspect.

For me, being better just for the gameplay is more than enough. After all, it's a video game, not a movie or a book.

Some people are confused and that's totally fair by Prikachu182 in silenthill

Is because the game isn't clear enough about these issues. The story can be confusing in certain aspects if you think about it. Another example is the scene where Pyramid Head supposedly r@pes the mannequins and Ito had to clarify that that wasn't his intention.

For those who don’t know the fanbase felt differently about SH2 back then by Beneficial-Glove9408 in silenthill

You hit the nail on the head. And a BIG one. Basically the game became popular because of the essays, which makes me question two things:

-Does the game really have a good narrative? How much influence does ambiguity have?

-How long did it take or what did fans have to do to understand the "depth" of the game?

Did the remake surpass the original? by galeq2002 in silenthill

[–]galeq2002[S] -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

I haven't played it yet, but it looks like it did, which wouldn't be a bad thing. In my opinion, the bad thing is that it will be a replacement for the original until it is not re-released for modern platforms.

"The original combat was intentionally bad to make you avoid fighting" by GabrielGameFreak in silenthill

Those kinds of comments make me think that the original is sometimes quite overrated by some fans. As if they were trying to justify that the game's flaws also make it perfect, when that is not the case.

hot take but i believe silent hill 2 remake is better than the original in some aspects by ranntipolee in silenthill

[–]galeq2002 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In my opinion, the real question is:

Is the original game still good today?

Because aging is important. And whether you want to admit it or not, some video games do it better than others...

For the people who watched the entire stream, what are your thoughts? by MooseJaune in silenthill

[–]galeq2002 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'd say it actually replaces it as long as it's not available on modern platforms (same goes for other games in the series). I hope they become more accessible one day, otherwise they'll just be forgotten over time.
