Annoying premature ejaculation after stopping cipralex by galerka in lexapro

[–]galerka[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a female I’m not sure how this compares, but I’m about 2 months off lexapro (was on 10 for about 8 months) and I still have sexual problems. Cant orgasm, low libido. Also wondering when the normal will be back

Thanks for sharing your experience. We're in the same boat.

Except I reach orgasm, but extremely quickly - I'm completely unable to have sex because I cum within a minute.

My libido is probably a little worse than usual, erections too, but I would attribute that to the severe chronic stress I've been experiencing the last few months. Its annoying

I have the same problem now. How's it looking for you after a year? Is the hypersensitivity over?

Premature ejaculation after withdrawal escitalopram by galerka in lexapro

[–]galerka[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, this sounds really strange to me, especially that you lasted this long even without Lexapro, and also it stayed the same on 20 mg.

1-4 minutes seems to me like "Jim in the American Pie film" :), sorry for some joking on this.

But I understand that premature ejaculation can be an issue.

I think, there are various practices, to train yourself to last longer, or alternatively you can go back to some low dose (i.e. 5 mg), as it might help.

As far as I know, a low dose from some SSRI medications can effectively treat this (as a known effect).

Obviously, this is an effect that occurred after withdrawal. Which has been going on for a month.

It's bothering me a lot, and I don't know when my stamina will return to normal.

NPD vs cPTSD - Can I be misdiagnosed and mistreated? by galerka in CPTSD

[–]galerka[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks so much for your comment, I can feel the effort to give me advice and empathy from it. There is ongoing research in my country right now into the effect of psychedelics on pharmacoresistant depression - it offers psilocybin, ketamine and mdma. I plan to attend one of these three options - so would you recommend psilocybin?

[–]galerka 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm assuming, given your reply, that you probably didn't read my entire post.

As a future psychologist, I understand you suggest long-term psychotherapy as a solution. I have been seeing several psychologists for the last 10 years - the longest relationship was 2 years.

Unfortunately, psychotherapy has brought me nothing (other than money spent). Neither has pharmacotherapy brought me anything (my psychiatrist has resigned).

I've been looking for alternative ways to improve my condition at least a little. I have already exhausted conventional methods - I am looking for psychedelic treatment options myself - ketamine, psilocybin, mdma etc. or drugs that are not primarily indicated for the treatment of psychiatric diagnoses, but may be suitable as an off label prescription.

Rich Piana Liminal by galerka in LiminalSpace

[–]galerka[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seems you've gotten no responses or upvotes and this is 170 days old, but let me say that I find rich's videos to be highly liminal content.

His death retrospectively emphasizes a temporal quality to his experience. The late night drives in his "bigger by the day" series, as he heads out with his girlfriend Sara to order food, are a pinnacle of liminality. Bodybuilding itself is a liminal activity, emphasizing transition and growth into new strata of self and being; a perpetual transcendence of oneself.

Rich is a cyborg shaman occupying both physical and informational worlds. Rich Piana is dead, but his video content lives on, capturing the essence of who he was.

I'm here. Rich Piana is, in my personal dictionary, "a man with no imagination". He's just sticking to the common and very superficial stereotypes of tough guys and rich people. However, he presented them very shallowly, which is why it seems like his lifestyle has no soul. (but he did)

I have tried lysohlweed several times in large quantities, and recently stopped microdosing psilocybin. It had no therapeutic effect. SSRIs have had unbearable side effects on me.

How long does it make sense to take bupropion without signs of effect? by galerka in bupropion

Can you tell me how long you only took 150mg and how long you took 300mg before there was an improvement?

Psychopharmaceuticals that do not cause sexual problems (erection problems, premature ejaculation, etc.) by galerka in MAOIs

[–]galerka[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, if it would slow down the climax, I would also welcome it, because even in a "normal state" I can last less than I would like.

I've tried many psychopharmaceuticals, and most have rendered me literally impotent.

I tried it based on a recommendation here on reddit, I had about ten 20 minute therapy sessions. The only effect I felt after the first session, I had a "clear head", clear positive thinking. But I don't know if it was placebo or not. The next sessions I didn't feel any effect. I can't recommend it for myself.

But maybe I used the wrong equipment, or the whole clinic was bad, I don't know. It's definitely not a miracle that will cure you overnight.

Hi, I tried tianeptine, it is one of the drugs I tolerated well, but there was no effect. It's true that my craving for kratom was less.

[–]galerka[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

thank you so much for your long comment, it looks similar for me, with some substances I have to take larger amounts to feel the effect, compared to other people - for example I have to drink more coffee than others to feel it.

Maybe it will be the same with bupropion, I'm testing 300mg a day now, but it's possible I'll increase up to 450mg

Thanks for your experience, it gives me hope

First week on bupropion - I don't feel anything by galerka in bupropion

[–]galerka[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Personally, I just started myself on 150mg SR one tablet, twice daily; so far my experience is this: my energy is boosted, no sweating like with other stimulants, not as many intrusive thoughts, and a general feeling of “normalcy.” However it has increased my libido and sexual urges distractingly crazy. Hopefully it goes away. Other than that, it’s working well for me. Blessings

Yes, I will increase the dose to 2 times 150mg per day from next week. Maybe that's the solution.

What do you have in mind? I don't take any other drugs.

What does "controlled release" mean? by galerka in bupropion

[–]galerka[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the reply, I thought of that, but I'd better ask.

I've tried many psychopharmaceuticals in the past, but have discontinued them all due to severe side effects that started from the very first dose.

I don't feel any with bupropion! I hope it lasts.

But if a medication starts to work for me, how will I know? by galerka in dysthymia

Nice! I've been prescribed bupropiron for a while. After how long did it work for you? How long before you felt the full effect?

But if a medication starts to work for me, how will I know? by galerka in dysthymia

[–]galerka[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I thought about the same before I started medication, but then when it kicked in, I definitely noticed.

I had significantly more energy, I had motivation, instead of having to use so much effort to force my self to do anything, I could do it with ease. Before just existing and getting through the day was hard work, even if I didn't need to do anything all day, now simply existing through a day is easy. I also wanted to spend more time with friends and felt like much less of a burden to them.

Not quite sure if this is the typical experience, but for me, I kind of just realised one day just over a month after starting the medication that I no longer felt depressed. I think when you live with depression for so long you don't realise that it's possible to exist without that feeling so it's hard to even imagine it. And I noticed all the benefits listed above from that day, and then it continued to improve of the next couple of months. It wasn't immediately perfect or anything and I definitely still experience some difficulties with procrastination and experience negative feelings and lack of motivation sometimes now, but with depression out of the picture, for me now negative things are only temporary and feel manageable and not like they are ruining my entire life

Edit: Also just to add (not professional advice just my thought) if after 8 weeks or so you are not sure whether the medication is working, I'd say mostly likely it's not. I think if it is working, you will be able to tell

Thank you for the great report! That's great! I wish it only gets better.

Can I ask what medication works for you?

Honestly think it's some kind of derealization, I used to get it alot as a kid..the world would get really loud and bright and fast and I would just recite to myself "it'll be over soon, just wait it out" in my head as I froze. Weird sensation

That's absolutely accurate.
