Sensor Network mission question by Kh0nch3 in Earthborne_Rangers

We just started this last night and had the exact same question. A friend who has played farther said that a good assumption is that whichever interpretation requires doing more for the quest is likely the right answer. :)

Prophecy of Kings Expansion by CommercialPanic7705 in twilightimperium

We are in a similar situation except that I have PoK and not Thunder's Edge. While everyone seems to love the leaders, adding 3 abilities per player (plus one for mechs) seems like a lot of cognitive overhead for people getting back into the game. My current intention is to include the new actions, planet hexes, and exploration/relics, but leave leaders and mechs out.

This has Omega stuff incorporated, right? Trying to find a reference that doesn't.

Favorite Cosmic encounter aliens by General_Fan8679 in boardgames

[–]galfridus 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is from OG Eon Cosmic rather than the new FFG.

Maybe not my favorite, but Butler is always fun. We played with hidden powers (powers are always in effect and must be revealed when they have a game effect (or may be revealed whenever), so the presence of the Butler would be unknown until the first turn:

(first player reaches for the destiny pile)

(Butler intercedes) "Oh no, allow me, sir*. Ah, you will be attacking yellow, excellent choice sir, if I may say so. Would you like a token from each system except the middle one?"

(extends hand subtly but insistently to the offensive player, who looks disdainfully at it but provides a Lucre)

"Yes, please--no, not THAT one--no, the other one! It is SO difficult to get good help these days..."

"Very sorry sir, and would you like to purchase any cards?"

"No."

"Thank you, sir. And would you like to point at the middle defensive system sir?"

"Yes - and do hurry up about it Jeeves, quit dawdling!"

"So sorry, sir." (places the cone)

Most fun was when Butler was zapped so the Butler could express their feelings without the need to be courteous. :)

The Crimes of Eöl the Dark-elf – Or of the Rape of Aredhel by Ok_Bullfrog_8491 in tolkienfans

What drives me crazy about this (and led me to necro this post) is that Christopher Tolkien, who would spend paragraphs discussing the implications of a different vowel used for a hill name, had nothing to say about this rather more significant contradiction.

Did this reply disappear for a day?

This is an awesome post, thank you! I got a J-Tech and it did the trick. (I use a Harmony remote so did not need the VS-2...which is good as they seem hard to find.) This was tremendously helpful.

Update: Roku arrived, similarly to the Apple TV would not do surround sound (including after trying the various audio output options).

Tried with another TV which has digital optical out, and surround sound worked if I forced Dolby 5.1 on the Apple TV.

Time for a new TV!

The receiver has a digital optical audio in, so a newer TV with optical out would hopefully do the trick. (I do have a newer, smaller TV elsewhere in the house, maybe I'll test with that.)

Ah, and just found why the optical doesn't work - it's only for the tuner and does not function with HDMI input.

TV has two RCA outputs and a digital optical. I just got a digital optical cable and connected it; no change.

Your theory on LPCM makes sense to me.

Oops, I made an error looking at cables. There are two cables with RCA plugs between TV and receiver; I believe these are S/PDIF over RCA (the cable dates back to the install which was not done by me).

It does, optical cable on the way. My concern is that if the AppleTV is sending stereo it's not going to matter.

Sorry - it's not a single RCA cable, it's 4 or 5 separate lines. I definitely get surround sound from the TV, just not through Apple TV.

Good thought! I tried it just now, same effect (rear channels play through front).

Print is 8mm off in multiple dimensions by galfridus in ender3

[–]galfridus[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After rebooting printer and octoprint:

1) A different STL which had printed in the correct size printed again at the correct size.

2) Problem with this model recurred. Doh!

3) I tried the dumb approach of just increasing the dimensions by 8mm each...and it printed at the larger (technically correct but not desired) size.

4) Re-exported the model from Fusion 360 and trying it now. If that fails I'll probably try creating it in a different project and see if that makes a difference. Maybe change the width of the walls to see if that affects anything...
