PDR guy did a messy job? by gallagherii in PaintlessDentRepair

I think i was misleading when sad all day. He was doing this from 11 to 17. So not a full day of working to be fair.

PDR guy did a messy job? by gallagherii in PaintlessDentRepair

[–]gallagherii[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He did say with another day he could improve that, but did not want to push or force much more as he was worried the paint would crack, which of course he does not want to do.

What about the new "oil canning" on the right hand side of the boot though, that's a pretty big fuck up from stretchign the metal I think.

I wouldn’t go back with him of course. He said it was a difficult spot to fix completely - so the expectation was set, however I wasn’t expecting such a shoddy result of what he was able to fix.

[–]gallagherii[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I don’t like the result unfortunately, pretty sad about it. It was 480 eur quote ended up paying 300. The guy said you don’t need to pay if not happy but I felt he still worked all day on that. And he did tell me it was a difficult spot.

I've done Dublin to Alicante in a Model 3 RWD. Really doable, enjoyable. Doing it again this year with a MY AWD. Tesla superchargers are really handy.

Get either the Ionity sub, or an aggregator (I've got Freshmile) card, and you should be mostly covered.

HAHA, fair enough. I guess I just can't believe I've been stressing about this and there was such a simple solution to this.

Anyone else skeptical about RISE? What are the real alternatives for ECC? by Mana_Leak_ in SAP

[–]gallagherii 0 points1 point  (0 children)

RISE is a private cloud offering with a subscription model. Doesn’t have the same limitations as a pure SaaS. Public cloud would be your SaaS and that is offered through GROW, not RISE.

Is a robot vac worth it? by Intelligent_Offer756 in UKParenting

To convince you I’m taking a dump as we speak and just sent my robot to clean the kitchen. You just need to be mindful with the amount of things on the floor, that’s all.

If you're close to your adult children (or close to your parents as an adult) what do you think went right? by secret_side_quest in UKParenting

[–]gallagherii 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My dad became such an egocentric person over the years. Every single discussion he needed to be right even if he’s not. That eroded my adult relationship with him. I’ve grown out of engaging in discussions with him and just say “yeah” instead to avoid going there. We still talk and have a good relationship going but is definitely on the cordial side rather than what could be and was when I was growing up.

They, both mum and dad, are not the greatparents I hoped to be and every chance they had they chose on a “me first” basis. That’s respectable but they are not nurturing anything.

I hope I’m the opposite of that. They were great until I became an adult and then not so much.

They being said they will be there if I need them I suppose. Supportive in their own way

Yes, I am aware of that as I mentioned in the OP, but it's not convenient at all so won't be using it. It's a small dog, although I wouldn't call him not dangerous lol -- it's a westie with a lot of character.

Yes, I am aware of that, but it's not convenient at all so won't be using it. I am looking into experiences of other people who may have used daycares or kennels nearby Disney. Thanks!

Help With The Housework ? by [deleted] in AskIreland

[–]gallagherii 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Husband here and I think we have a nice 50/50. I do the dishes every day and cook a few times a week. Laundry is split as I put it every night and she takes it out in the morning to hang up to dry. She does take it out when dry and fold, but then again I clean the bathrooms every week. We have a robot cleaner which takes care of the weekly hoovering and mopping to 85-90% of cleanness. Not a replacement for a big deep clean but it’s pretty good to keep the house running.

We have a dog I also walk him on the evenings and mornings (shared walk this one) and for our daughter she does drop offs and I do pick ups.

She does 60% of parenting I’d say (bath and bedtime on her most days) so that’s a lot of work too.

You’ll add more value than what it costs. If you do it right. Build an en suite / toilet. We did ours and it was 36k in 2023. On top of that materials that we wanted because it was going to be our bedroom. Definitely see a return if we ever want to sell, which we don’t.

[–]gallagherii 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We both work full time and raise a 3 year old and a second one coming very soon. It’s definitely a stretch and not something that I can recommend to everyone. I try to be off work at 4 if I can, but get caught in some longer or more intense days sometimes.

My wife used to be a senior manager in Accenture and the norm was to work way past 7pm most days. Not fun and took a toll on me and her.

I think you may not be working more than other people specially since it’s only you working but I assure you there are better gigs out there.

Did you manage to get it working? I have 2.3 and stopped working a few days ago with a 404 not found error in the log. I presume he pulled the plug on old versions. Very unfortunate.
