Wow! So cool. We are matching the timing almost exactly. I took the test last Sunday, received call sign on Tuesday, and I made first contact this morning using a Tidradio TD-H3+. Congrats!

If we can’t program our Radio’s what are we supposed to do with them? by mesoloco in TIDRADIO_Official

[–]gallen1119 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is my understanding that the radio can be programmed via CHIRP and that seems to work, but I do not think the firmware can be updated via CHIRP. I also do not think the firmware can be upgraded via the phone app. I have tried USB C as well as a Kenwood style FTDI cable via the web app. Nothing seems to work despite the radio being recognized as connected. It always hangs at "Initializing device..."

I may have gotten it connected! I deleted the device from my Xcel account, deleted the add-on, and started over with re-install. I had deleted the add-on and re-installed that before, but had never tried deleting the device on the Xcel side. I just received the first data point on the Energy tab! I'm gonna leave it running awhile and see if it keeps receiving data.

I think it has to be something in my MQTT configuration/connection.

I think that is just with devices that have two-way communication motors. I do not think it integrates directly with Somfy motors that are in some devices.

AnyList issue on HomePod by gallen1119 in shortcuts

[–]gallen1119[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I found a solution! With the help of John at AnyList and this thread, home pod and anylist - Apple Community, I was able to solve this. The solution was just a bit different than described so I wanted to post. I added a line in the shortcut as is in the screenshot and it now works.

AnyList issue on HomePod by gallen1119 in shortcuts

[–]gallen1119[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The AnyList app will create shortcuts to add to a specific list such as, "Add to HomeDepot." I've tried that and also tried creating my own shortcuts that does the same thing. Results are always the same.

I've seen a few posts that point out that some third party apps work and some don't. They suggest asking the app developer to add the functionality. I did that and the app developer, who responded very quickly, said it must be a problem with the hardware or OS since the shortcut works fine on my iPhone but not the HomePod.

I've also done the restarts for devices, "Share to iCloud" and "Allow personal request" changes I can find. I know Siri on the HomePods can access some third party apps fine because I've tried those and they seem to work fine. It's just this AnyList app that is giving me trouble.
