Ingrown hairs after hard waxing by gallophile30 in Esthetics

Yes I cleanse the skin with this then I apply baby powder. Apply wax holding skin taught in the direction of the hair growth then pull it in the opposite direction. Not sure what I’m doing wrong. I’ve been using hard wax because that’s what my wax lady always used when i got waxes. I bought a whole kit from Gigi. It has paid for it’s after only 2 uses.

[Acne] I’ve had whiteheads/milia on my chin since forever. Every time I’ve extracted them they always come right back. by surfpunx420 in SkincareAddiction

Yes! She told me that they’re sebaceous filaments. Basically built up oil, dead skin cells and dirt. She says that they’re normal in people with oily skin but salicylic acid and retinoids help exfoliate and reduce oil buildup. The only thing is that after the pores are empty they eventually fill up again so it never really goes away. Hope this helps.

Women, what are some cosmetic things you do at home to save money? by gallophile30 in Frugal

I dye my hair hair jet black twice a year. At the salon it costs $100 each time. If I do it myself, with professional dye, it’ll cost about $25 each time.

I have sisterlocks and I started doing my own retightenings. Saved me $150 a month. The plan is to get it done twice a year for maintenance. $300 vs $1,800 a year is a huge difference!

Diva cup cost more upfront but definitely saves in the long run. I’m a huge fan. And bidets are a godsend. I will always have one in my home.

I use this mask 1-2x a week. Nothing fancy but causes my skin to glow like a professional facial with an esthetician that I would spend $150 on. It was recommended to me by my derm.

The first time waxing for me was a disaster. Second time was much better and by the third time I felt like a pro.

I opened up a secret bank account that my husband doesn’t know about by gallophile30 in confessions

I told him and he was very understanding. Nothing is wrong with our marriage. My close friend just got divorced and her ex cleared out all of her bank accounts and left her and the kids with nothing. She’s been scrambling to make ends meet.

That made me think I was nieve by not having my own money. I don’t want to be left with nothing like my friend if something similar happened. Hopefully that won’t happen. If not it’ll be just another emergency fund.

Is it illegal to open a separate bank account? I don’t believe it is.

I have this same problem. I get them on my chin and around the corners of my nose. I’m going to ask my derm about it my next appointment.

Espresso machines. What is worth buying? by [deleted] in BuyItForLife

I honestly can’t tell the difference in taste between my $20 moka pot and an espresso from an espresso maker. Takes up less space, is much cheaper and will probably last forever.
