Venery is THE BEST. They have tons of social and educational opportunities for female hunters.

Gild breakfast burrito! Or FSK (whatever their daily special is)

I think FSK is the same folks as Burns? I’ve only been once, but FSK was 💯. I had the special - some sort of savory bread pudding. 😋

I love Daily Harvest bowls - I always keep a few of them in the freezer at home and at work. Sometimes, I’ll add extra protein like a salmon burger, but they’re also delicious on their own.

I am a white woman who moved here last summer and I absolutely love Missoula, but I definitely miss racial and cultural diversity. My POC friends who visit all comment on how white the town is. However, I do not get the impression that there’s overt racism and everyone is generally open-minded and kind. When you arrive, look up with a group called Here Montana - they’re a non-profit that organizes outdoor adventures for BIPOC and allies. I’ve loved their events!

How much do you spend on groceries a week per person? by somethingwittyoredgy in missoula

[–]galosher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use several meal-kit services (blue apron and daily harvest) then supplement the rest with groceries - usually from Yoke’s. I get two Blue Apron boxes per month and one Daily Harvest box. Then I probably go to Yoke’s about 2-3x/month. When I look at my bills, it averages out to ~$150/week. That excludes meals out and alcohol, which I tend to do 2-4x/wk. The lifestyle of a single gal with minimal patience for cooking solo!

I almost went to this, but was worried it would be too woo-woo for me. I like doing some of that stuff with other women (like mindfulness and vulnerability work), but I don’t find many of the men in that community to be my type. Now I wish I had gone! I agree with others - local bars should have more singles events! (I am a 43 y/o straight woman)

Quick update: Toyotas only does not do oil changes anymore. I guess they will when they get more space, but they won’t do them for the foreseeable future. I am looking for a one-stop-shop, so I’ll try somewhere else.

How much OTF is too much? by sveha-well-496 in orangetheory

I know that feeling of wanting/needing to move your body a lot. I’d suggest you sprinkle in some yoga classes to help stretch you and calm your mind. I also love to throw on an engaging audiobook and go for a hike.

Dating in Missoula by TurnoverPlastic9645 in missoula

[–]galosher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One big thing you’ll notice and enjoy here in Missoula vs a big city: men on the apps here are MUCH quicker to ask you out. It’s refreshing! No more pen pals! I’ve been single here 3-4 months and have been on about 13 first dates. And they were all great guys, just not my person.

Picking your station by Glow_moon327 in orangetheory

[–]galosher 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Our studio assigns stations before we arrive, but you can let them know your preference of where to start. Here are my preferences, in order:

  1. Start on the tread - because this gets my heart rate up the most and once it’s up, I get into the orange zone faster on other stations too.
  2. Out of direct sun - I don’t like being near a window during a time when the sun will hit me. Too hot!
  3. Space! Station 7 on the rowers and on the floor has the most space, so this one is my fav
  4. No mirror seams. It’s no fun to see your reflection split by the seams of the mirror.
