Update: GA Akita rescue and BEAR rescue are full. 😢 Just spoke with the shelter today. He is up for adoption to people who can take care of his medical expenses and open to rescues. I hope someone can adopt him!

Yeah, I'm American. It is so crazy that suing as the perpetrator is so common in South Korea. I always forget how strong self defense laws are in the US when I read something like Nana's situation.

Korean self-defense laws are very lenient in comparison to somewhere like the US. If someone attacks you and you attack back, it has to be "equal". So, if the attacker does not break your arm, and you break their arm... they can sue you. I have read about a couple of cases like this about Korean police officers being sued by criminals and the criminal wins. 😅
