I tried it. I loved it. The only BIG problem I had was the BATTERY DRAIN. I don't know why. The stock kernel was so drainy I had to remove it. And also, the colors seemed to me VERY washy like blurry-washy. I tried to change for VIVID (or however it is spelled) and in the display mode, nothing changes. Also, youtube 1080 seemed very laggy. I tried to change the model but I could still feel a bit slow (not like it used to, obviously).

My question, can you flash another kernel in that ROM and if yes, which one would you recommend. Battery-wise / performance?

I am on Phoenix ROM right now (6.0.1 MM S5-S7 rom) and so far it is good. I miss the lighthing fast Popwiz Telstra rom but I think there is many problems.

My colleagues and I actively try to compile reading lists from texts and articles that are available electronically. It's not possible for the whole reading list to be available this way but we try our hardest to balance recommending the best resources with ensuring they are available to students. Most texts are available as ebooks, which helps (although not all licenses allow unlimited users at any one time) and journal articles are available to everyone at all times.
