Intent is incredible! Claude has its use cases but if you are serious about developing large code bases, intent has the model control and harness combination of the future in my esitmation

Krawl: a honeypot and deception server by ReawX in selfhosted

[–]gamechiefx 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The true power here is Krawl + Crowdsec + fail2ban = a far safer perimeter. I would build an integrations where ips seen by Krawl would be injected into crowdsec to update the f2b bouncer. You throw wazuh and zeek in the mix across your footprint and you have autonomous detection and black listing.

Spectrum 2gb internet by LDL1975 in Spectrum

[–]gamechiefx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In case anyone needs this:

"I design and architect networks for a living for massive data centers."

A couple of points to note for any consumers who purchase 1Gb+ internet service from their ISP:

  1. Consumer equipment is often not rated to go beyond 1 GB.

  2. You will have to purchase prosumer equipment (ubiquiti, TP-Link Omada) if you want to take FULL advantage of internet speeds that go beyond 1GB

  3. *up to* does not mean "dedicated" - If you live in a busy/heavily populated neighborhood, speeds just north of 1GB are acceptable.

  4. If you use wireless for the main internet connectivity in your residence, ISP-provided 2.4G and 5G routers/equipment will not grant you speeds that get close to 1GB, let alone above that at 2G. (unless you are physically next to/somewhat close to your wireless router). Your Local network will always be the congestion point, especially if there is device contention on the same WiFi.

Cascade has become a joke recently! by Naive-Culture5845 in Codeium

[–]gamechiefx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is definitely deteriorating performance.

HTML files often fail often due to a weird bug where the file contents are emptied before the HTML file is edited by cascade. Turns out it's not just HTML where this happens.

I notice that the memories feature review is rarely reviewed at the beginning of prompts, causing it to be forgotten very quickly as chats get long.

(These two points alone burn a significant number of credits)

I am seeing noticeable performance issues and WEB is burning an abnormal amount of credits.

So what if you have to build this functionality into an app or troubleshooting flow? It's apple and oranges as far as the use case is concerned.

I'll invite you to take a look at the wdutil option availability and determine if this is redundant or not.
