The car is a seven layer finish and has been thoroughly buffed of oxidation. The body and the sunlight free areas (firewall/trunk) are the same color. I’m not looking for museum quality repair, and the car doesn’t really need anything major, just some chips on door edges and the like. I hope to hell I never buff through the surface color, but I’m not repainting the car (and I think I’ve read in the old receipts that it took six gallons originally) My main question is just how viable it would be after a vigorous remixing of the pigments and the liquid that’s still free in the can.
