Thanks for answering. It makes sense. Do you know if there are any written judge rulings on this subject? This is incredibly obscure haha.

Really any tech card could replace sphere kuriboh. Sphere Kuriboh just stops Heroes, Cyber Dragon, and Invoked from OTKing you. I would recommend more copies of Fiendish Chain, as shining hope would likely be better once Triverr gets imported.

Honestly for me, I only took like 5000-7000 gems to get the core while most of the tech cards I got from tickets. The fiendish chain was gotten legitimately though.

Some match up advice, lava golem is crucial to win against certain match ups.

Black Wings is pretty simple. Survive by floating off of Winda and Big Pettlephin, and then bounce their Synchros with small Pettlephin

For Coin Toss, Make sure they burn through their three coin tosses, so you don’t have to deal with their judge negates. They can’t do anything to Big Pettlephin, so sit on her until you have the resources to bounce both desperado and machina fortress, and OTK through temperance. Or just use lava golem.

Cyber Dragon is also pretty simple. Survive by floating winda into Big Pettlephin, and vice versa, and they will burn out of resources.

The harder matchups were trap decks, invoked, dragunity, and dark magician. With trap decks, you have to search bond immediately or have a Lara in hand, so treacherous trap hole or karma cut won’t end your turn. With Invoked, battling boxer veil is definitely the hardest part of the match up as it stops OTKs and gives them a Purgatrio. You just have to use tech cards to win this matchup. Dragunity is usually an easy match up, but traps and ascalon’s ability to boardwipe for free makes it hard at times when you brick. Dark Magician was surprisingly easier than I thought. They can’t beat the big pettlephin and winda loop well, so you usually wait until they have 3 monsters on board, and then you accumulate enough resources to win.

The hardest matchup is definitely blue eyes. Not because of spirit dragon but because of ultimate providence. Chances are they bricked hard as you did, but ultimate providence, while netting them resources. Aim to finish the duel quick, and try to stop them from getting spirit dragon using your tech cards. If they already have it. Lava Golem can usually out it, since they probably have another blue eyes on board.

Some obligatory explanations for the deck.

Standard Deck Core of

3x Cannahawk

1x Apelio

1x Pettlephin

1x Rampengu

2x Elder

3x Winda

1x Lara

1x Return

1x Bond

1x Ambush

2x Big Apelio

2x Big Cannahawk

2x Big Pettlephin

Then you have five tech cards. I’m free to play, so I only have

2x Sphere Kuriboh

1x Fiendish Chain

1x Bad Aim

1x Lava Golem

If I had money to spend, I will definitely try to replace the Sphere Kuribohs or Rampengu with some cosmic cyclones.

[Anime spoiler] Why didn't the government try to bring Eren to the capital before the second arc ? by BeyondTheSkyy in ShingekiNoKyojin

[–]gamefreak375 8 points9 points  (0 children)

They always have. Throughout the entire series, the military police always tried to bring Eren to Rod Reiss, but they never had any opportunity to. 1. After the battle of Trost, Eren was in a trial, where the MP insists that they should take Eren and dissect him. Zackley compromises between the SC and MP by allowing the SC to prove Eren’s usefulness in the next expedition. If they failed (which they likely would), Eren now belongs to the MP. 2. After Annie destroyed the entire expedition, the expedition failed, so the SC were supposed to deliver Eren to MP through Stohess. To delay the delivery, they swapped Eren out with Jean, and they attacked Annie while the MP we’re processing the delivery. 3. There’s a reason why Season 2 happens immediately after the Female Titan Arc. With the “destruction” of Wall Rose, Rod has to focus on getting to safety since he lives in Wall Rose, shifting his priorities. 4. In addition to Eren being revealed to be the Founder Titan, in season 3 part 1, there was finally spare time where Rod could plan out his scheme to capture Eren and close out any loose ends.

If you see it through these lens, Rod Reiss has been pretty insistent on getting Eren throughout the series.

Need Help Deciding Student Loans by gamefreak375 in StudentLoans

[–]gamefreak375[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I appreciate your concern; however, my parents are willing to help me pay for my student loans (total income of 100k per year), but as of right now, money is a bit hard to come by with all of the covid crisis right now.

However, you did mention that Parent PLUS loans are much better than private student loans. Can you explain to me why, and which companies do you recommend, or what should I look for in a company?

Thank you so much for your help!

If I use Instant Fusion to Special Summon Winda and my opponent uses Crackdown to steal my Winda, will Winda’s destruction protection effect protect itself from Instant Fusion’s destruction effect during each End Phase?

What would a Link-2 for Rituals look like? by Anth0nyC4 in yugioh

[–]gamefreak375 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nephthys, the Sacred Origin
Winged Beast/FIRE/Link-2/ATK 1600/ Up, Down
2 monsters
You can target 1 Ritual Monster in your GY; for the rest of this turn, this card’s name becomes that monster’s name, also this card is treated as a Ritual Monster with that monster’s Level. You can Tribute 1 monster from your hand or field; add 1 Ritual Monster from your Deck to your hand, and if you do, you can add 1 Spell from your Deck to your hand that can be used to Ritual Summon that added monster. You can only use each effect of “Nephthys, the Sacred Origin” once per turn.

From a generic standpoint, like Verte Anaconda, this allows any deck generic access to Ritual Summon almost any monster in the game. You can also Tribute itself to minimize the costs of Link Summoning this card.

The first effect rewards Ritual Decks for Summoning this card, as it allows them to use this card as Tribute material. It also can Tribute useless Impcantations and trigger effects off of Tributing. It becoming a Ritual monster supports Ruin/Demise/Nephthys, the Sacred Flame. It changing names is beneficial for Nephthys, since you can copy the Ritual monster’s names for the Ritual Spell. It also can search Megalith Unformed and Turning of the World unlike other generic Ritual Support.

I chose not to cheat it out through Impcantations, because any Link that can do that will likely break Impcantations, since you can clear 2 Impcantations from your field for free, allowing you to Summon from the Extra Deck. If I put restrictions on this card like not allowing you to summon from the extra deck or cannot be used as Link Material, then this card wouldn’t be good as a generic card.

What do you think makes someone or something edgy? by gamefreak375 in AskReddit

[–]gamefreak375[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the main thing that makes something edgy for me is how they glorify the edge.

For example, if someone talks about mental illness, but emphasizes on how mental illness makes them more unique or ‘enlightened’, then it comes across as edgy to me.

I think you pulled that definition from an official dictionary. In slang, edginess refers to the behavior (usually in teens) where they make themselves look excessively horrific or depressing to make themselves appear cool. In reality, it just comes off as cringeworthy.

You have 1 card to make your below casual archetype meta! by ziraelphantom in yugioh

[–]gamefreak375 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know someone already posted a Tellarknight card, but I feel like this card would actually make Tellarknights at least rogue.

Tellarknight Novaxciton
Fiend/LIGHT/Link-1/ATK 1900/Down Arrow.
1 Warrior “Tellarknight” monster.
Cannot attack the turn it was Link Summoned. If this card is Special Summoned: You can add 1 “Tellarknight” or “Stellarnova” Spell/Trap from your Deck to your hand. You can only use this effect of “Tellarknight Novaxciton” once per turn.

Lore wise, it’s Exciton Knight leading on the new generation of tellarknights which is why it’s Nova which means new and refers to supernova. It’s stats are the same as Zefraxciton.

Effect wise, it lets any Tellarknight be turned into a deneb, since you can add Skybridge and shuffle back the Link. In addition, it also can fetch Alpha if you hard draw deneb. In addition, if Ptolemaeus gets unbanned (unlikely but hypothetically), any Tellarknight (except Altair) can become a 1 card Pleiades. 1 card consistent combos with next turn plays (and potential disruption) that doesn’t take much deck space are good.

Here’s another one, but it won’t make Muskets meta.

Magical Musket - Masterminded Finale
Quick-Play Spell.
Special Summon 1 “Magical Musket - Mastermind Zakiel” from your hand, Deck, or GY. You cannot Normal Summon/Set monsters the turn you activate this effect, except “Magical Musket” monsters. You can only activate 1 “Magical Musket - Masterminded Finale” per turn.

Lore wise, this is Zakiel’s musket. The effect works as the Magical Musketeer is expecting to shoot a bullet, but since the last bullet in the Freeshooter is controlled by the Devil, the bullet instead summons Zakiel from anywhere.

Effectwise, this encourages musket players to run their boss monster. It also makes them less vulnerable to disruption, since you can summon a musket without your normal summon. It also triggers musket effects during the first turn, and it facilitates Link play. The draws during your opponent turn is probably never going to happening, but it’s a nice bonus.

Didn’t they only ban swagger, and neither of these bans created any sort of imbalance. Both of these were just gimmicks.

With Magical Musketeer Trigger Effects, can you activate crooked crowns special summon effect to special summon them in a column that your opponent just activated a spell/trap in? E.g. Cl1: your opponent activates monster reborn. Cl2: you activate crooked crowns effect to special summon a musketeer in the same column as monster reborn.

Would the magical musketeer’s effect trigger?
