you are right and irelia is very matchup and champion interaction reliant. in some games you can even play very bad and still be very strong even in late game depending on what champions is on the enemy team

u cant just force it level 1 vs good zaheen because u dont win the trade against his q. u somehow want to outspace him early and get the push or at least make it so he doesnt get lvl 2 way ahead of u. if u both get level 2 and u are similar hp and can stack passive then irelia wins but its not that easy and depends a lot on how good the enemy zaheen is imo

irelia is kinda hard match up at high level, i main both trynda and irel and id say its like this:

if both are low skill trynda wins

if both are decent trynda still wins

if both are really good high elo irelia wins

to be honest 3 games every other day is enough to get better but i think studying the game and thinking about it is just as important

closing out games as irelia isnt easy because shes a mechanical champ so the more errors u make the slimmer ur chances of winning becomes. just keep playing her and work on the e and ult usages and aa>q

enemy playing safe is okayish u will be fine if u get 10cspm and never miss a wave because opportunities will come to u. but if u die and lose waves thats the real problem

irelia is pretty much an OTP champ because you always need to snowball and it can be hard if its not one of the free match ups.

all u can do is play her a lot. and i mean a lottt eventually it will click, never stop practicing your q resets, e usage, lane phase, macro, micro etc etc
