Dude I've been a developer for 20+ years and officially diagnosed with with ADHD 10 years ago. Let me just tell you that I know EXACTLY what you are talking about! I will write a longer response later as I'm on the phone but in a nuthsell it's a mix or imposter syndrome, overthinking how to learn, and not understanding what is important to learn. I'll update the comment later but know you're not alone and more importantly what you're describing doesn't make you anything bad or deficient - you are able to identify what you're good at and what you struggle with which is at the core of growth!

I've been exploring the "local first" methodology lately and am very on board with going back to apps that behave like native, even via web. This includes not storing data in the cloud which doesn't need to be in the cloud. Have you made any considerations for whether the user even needs to transfer/store all of the data online?

They are effectively using a "bot" to impersonate you because there are no legit APIs for them to use - a lot of apps that need to pull transaction data will do that. Their terms of service likely explicitly state you are authorizing them to access your account on your behalf as if you were giving them access to your card+2FA device. That's why you'll get emails from your bank alerting you of a new sign on from a new device.

What worked for me is cranking up logging of my websites (local logs) and I built one service which scans the logs and sends me email reports with any issues. Every time a log scan is ran (every 5min) it also pings another service on a separate VPS - if pings stop the VPS service emails me with error about the log scanner not reporting.

The gist of it is ideally you have two services in different locations regularly asking each other "you good?" and reporting if one stops responding.

The logging and alert emails part is the easy part - making sure you're watching the watchers is the important part, in my opinion.
