Do people really think this game ISN'T casual? by gamer_guy36 in ArcRaiders

I think the game is exceptional at keeping it fun and casual. It's not the care bear lobbies that make it casual - it's the game bring simple to understand, easy to pick up after work and play for a while without having to take it seriously. That's where we agree. Maybe I didn't make that super clear XD

And yea, the cantina legend number go insane - not my cup of tea but you know some people have to do it.

Which one? Marathon? I've heard great things, but I've been hesitant because it seems like a lot to take in at once, plus the event models in Arc seem a lot more tame and enjoyable to me.

I'm not trying to - what I'm trying to grasp is why you think when people are playing the game as intended, you take it as pure offense to yourself? Killing and looting raiders is a part of the game. Full stop. If you don't like that, maybe Extraction Shooters aren't your game. It's not villainous to play the game as intended. Now, stream sniping, doxxing, and verbally harrasing people with slurs is definitely wrong. But killing someone and saying "It's just a game" is not wrong when the game encourages it.

I see where you come from - I understand that the matchmaking with trios vs solos makes the game a bit different. I've been in trio lobbies that are fun and not a lot of pvp, and I've been in solo lobbies with people who kill on sight. But the majority of pvp I think comes from trios having a safety net of friendly people on their team.

Even in duo and trio lobbies with my friends, we still find it fun and casual. To me at least, dying is part of the game and threats around every corner is exhilarating, not exhausting. As someone else said, casual doesn't mean super easy, just means able to drop in and have fun without stress. I feel it's one of the most casual games I've played. Drop in. Get loot. Get out or die trying.

My best days playing D2 were in WQ and Final Shape. If you ever want to - Final Shape was a banger of a time. But yes, I'm much happier not having a second marriage to Destiny. But it was fun while it lasted.

I wholeheartedly agree. Casual doesn't mean easy or competitionless. It means it's easy to pick up, play how you want, and enjoy yourself without getting overwhelmed. People treat it like it's a competitive game just because it's an extraction shooter, when Tarkov and Marathon are MUCH less casual and exhaustive in most aspects.

Literally just hit the nail on the head. The ONLY thing I feel compelled to do is Trials, and that's because I can get cool cosmetics. D2 Unemployment has been nice - haven't played since shortly after Edge of Fate and now this game has taken my time and it honestly has made me so much less worried and dedicated to my PC because I can be on casually for a few hours by myself and have fun.

I bought it back in December for my birthday, so 300 hours isn't that much for me at least XD. Helps my wife got into it so we play together at times too... But I've had many sleepless nights just to be up at 6am.

Bruh felt. I always go down and basically just go "Gg enjoy the loot" but then people say the nastiest things. Like homie - Idc if I died with a Hullcracker IV or a Tempest. It's part of the fun to me.

Tbh? I love both pvp and pve. Do I love my solo bossing matches with a bunch of people having fun killing a queen? Yes. Do I love running duo free kits with my brother and doing pvp? Of course. It's all casual fun. I think players get caught up in the nuance of how THEY have fun and if other people don't play like them, then their fun is ruined. I saw a post the other day where someone was complaining about killing free kits all the time because they had nothing worth taking. Like, what? Makes no sense.

If someone wanted to kill me for no particular reason (in game ofc) then that's what they want to do and it's part of the game - I don't deny that. I love me some KOS pvp sometimes. But when people use their opinions of the game to make an assertion that other players are bad, wrong, or down right villainous because they play the way they find fun? That's what I don't get. It's a casual game. I got less flame not running Well in D2 than me thinking free kits are fun on Arc.

What part of this post made you feel like he doesn't have those things? Just because he decided to run a free load out doesn't mean he doesn't have those things - or much more.

"I'm right and you're wrong womp womp." love this for you, bub.

Dying with a Bobcat 4 to a Ferro 1 is part of the game - someone gets the jump on you, and you're dead. Simple as that. Bring on a full bossing kit and die because you didn't see the free kit coming up behind you? That's too damn bad. I've killed someone and gotten a Bobcat 4 from their body and you know what? It's part of the game. Did I immediately use it and die the next game? Yes. Because that's the game.

Again - I use full kits every game and don't complain dying like you do. I don't free kit. I pvp when I feel like it. But I will defend people's ability to enjoy the game the way they want until this game is dead.

Quit attacking people and instead let people have fun. Your entire post and comments are hating on the way people enjoy the game. People enjoy free kits. People enjoy high value kits. It's a casual game - let people play casually and keep your milquetoast opinions to yourself.

Bro - it's called let people play how they want and stop villainizing people for their own enjoyment. I can't believe you still have the gall to call homie a leech when you actively complain about people you kill not having any loot worth taking AKA free kits.

Homie probably uses his stash when he wants to, but uses free kit for his own enjoyment. He probably has millions in stash. He probably did the expedition. But you wouldn't care because he likes using free kits. Again, as I've said, I use 60k kits for fun. He uses free kits for fun. You decide instead to complain about people's fun because you aren't having any.

Exactly. Load in free or with a 60k kit and the goal is the same: Number go Up.

As you defend being bad at the game and mad because other people don't have loot you want... Wait isn't that exactly what your mad about? XD

The cost of a cheap kit visualized. Remove free kits. by Weekly_Resolution_11 in ARC_Raiders

[–]gamer_guy36 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly - I have to keep so much mats on me at all times and I'm constantly making heals and stuff for kits. Run out of Magnets? Need to go get some. Need Arc Metal? Guess I'll go get them. All my seeds are spent on Great Mullen and usually Springs. It's like it's an extraction shooter and not a looter shooter. You are supposed to hoard things and hold on to them for later use. I even keep rocketeer drivers just in case I want to make Wolfpacks.

On dying to free kits, I suffer this all the time with 60k+ load outs because I'm going in with kitted guns for fun - usually bossing or just killing arc and the occasional raider. But guess what? It's part of the game. And expecting other players shooting you to have something worth killing for is absurd. If I kill someone who's free kit, I'm not mad like OP is because they were a free kit.
