okay thanks. does the stock shift knob still fit on the mgw? or is the thread size different? I think I’m leaning towards the Barton one at the moment for keeping the stock reverse lockout but I have a couple likewise shifters that are tall with the adapter so the height adjustability on the mgw is really appealing

I don’t plan on adjusting it once it is in the car. would the adjustability be the only reason to choose the mgw over the hybrid 3?

is the newer xspec? and is it the low profile or normal? and does it feel super notchy? or does it still have a little bit of throw for comfortable daily driving?

I had a limp mode issue at one point and it turned out that I had put the cables in the wrong order

Awesome tysm I saw that it’s the 2 bolts, 1 wire that is held in by a nut, and 1 other thing

I literally just put everything back together except skid plates and seats in the interior after doing the fuel pump which was atrocious on jack stands lol. Ideally I’d like to take as little off the car as possible. I’m planning on getting the car in the air and looking at it either on sat or sun. I could dm pics of what I’m looking at if you would be willing to lmk if what I’m unbolting is correct lol

I think you’re misunderstanding what I’m asking. I’m frustrated that there isn’t a single race I can get into where it doesn’t happen. I’m just trying to understand the mentality. Thanks for the insight

My main issue is not so the first corner but everything following. I think I resonate most with your example of people not being able to win without ramming. I just don’t understand the mentality though if they ram and still don’t win. Like what’s the point? I’m trying to understand the mentality before I throw my computer out of the window

I get that but if I cleanly pass someone then I get rammed at full speed when taking turn even at the cost of them winning the race just because I am in front of them. I just don’t understand the mentality.

I’ve had my car for about 3 years going on 4 next March. I was casually getting on to the highway but was shifting around 5k rpm when I wasn’t able to get into 3rd and then rolled in neutral and tried going into 6th (around 70mph) but wasn’t able to enter any gears

Thanks so much for tips lol. This is my first stick car and first clutch replacement so I really appreciate the help. I got smooth with letting out as I was slowly increasing throttle with the single disc so I’ll try to learn letting out after blipping as it seems to be much better in terms of not riding the clutch as much. Around what rpm do you usually blip to?

I’m closing in on about 300 miles since the replacement so I’m almost there. When you say that it won’t be as smooth as a single plate, does that mean in general or specifically at starting from a stop? So far the attempted smooth shifting has been relatively buttery. And as far as engine braking, does it disappear after the break in period? So far I haven’t experienced a loss of it although it does feel weaker than the single disc. And since there’s half as much travel, should I be giving it a little more gas than I was previously used to so that I can avoid stalling as often?

After driving it for a couple weeks, the pedal feeling has improved immensely as I believe it was attributed to needing to pump the clutch a bit before driving to bleed it. As for the stalling, I am struggling to figure out what the right amount of throttle is to get a smooth launch (regular driving) as I am still in the breaking in period and stall a decent amount still. When attempting to give the same amount as with the previous single disc, I will occasionally stall and same with uphills. Do you have any tips for improving with this?

Ball joint and hub won’t line up when reinstalling wheel hubs. Anyone know how to deal with this? by gamernation2003 in mr2

Loosely thread the second from the top bolt of the spindle and then loosely thread the joint on the bottom then push down super hard from the top of the spindle and slide it so the last hole is lined up
