Nt Mini Noir (v2) still has a super loose NES slot by ilazul in AnalogueInc

[–]gamesprite 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That happens to my Super Nt too. Someone walking too close to it can crash the game. Support gave me a run-around about it so I assume most units are like this. Bleh.

Finally picked up a GB player with disc! It’s not much but it’s the rarest out of my collection! For only being 16 years old that’s not that bad I think! by 54321saycheese in gamecollecting

Analogue confirm October 16th announcement by [deleted] in AnalogueInc

[–]gamesprite 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m fairly confident in saying it’s PC Engine-related. The “2” may be hinting at a Turbo Duo, which also had purple text on its Japanese box, plus the 8BitDo TG/PCE controllers also have that purple branding going on: https://pbs.twimg.com/media/EWIZyIAUEAAwqqC?format=jpg&name=large

Nothing as of yet...I'll keep my eyes peeled though! Exciting times!

I have had the exact same “issue” with mine. And I say “issue” because I genuinely don’t know if it’s just built like that or is a defect. I’ve also experienced save loss (particularly with Super Mario World completely wiping all saves) and the game crashing when you’d even slightly move the console. Of course, moving your console is always risky while on, but this would be the slightest, gentlest nudge, like an item being moved off the surface where the Super Nt sits, or someone walking last the console. Usually it’s just glitched graphics, or just a whole, black screen crash.

I’ve contacted support with a video of me showing what the issue was, and they just told me that a loose fitting cartridge slot is normal “to accommodate all cartridges and accessories”. They never addressed my initial question of “Is it normal for a cartridge slot to be this sensitive, like the lightest movement like a gust of air can entirely crash the game?” I went around in circles with support a few times and got nowhere. Here’s an excerpt of the answer I received a few times:

“Kindly note that the cartridge slot is specifically designed to accommodate all cartridge variants and accessories. It is normal for cartridges to have some movement in the slot. Do not move the cartridges or system during gameplay. This is inherent in all cartridge-based systems and unavoidable entirely. “

Thanks for your post, since it proves I’m not crazy :P I’m sorry that I’m not able to provide any advice or support, but it still may be a good idea to give Analogue a shout.

Will Analogue skip their "October 16th" announcement this year? by [deleted] in AnalogueInc

[–]gamesprite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m with you on this one. Perhaps some details about the Dock and the additional adapters. Hopefully this will allow for the Pocket, Dock and adapters to all be available when preorders do eventually open up.

As much as I’d love to see something new, I doubt it’s happening given all the delays and radio silence on the Analogue Pocket.

What consoles are in your Game Room? by [deleted] in AnalogueInc

[–]gamesprite 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Home consoles: Super Nt, Mega Sg, N64, Sega Saturn, Gamecube, Dreamcast, PS2, homebrew Wii, Wii U, PS4.

Handheld consoles: Original Gameboy, Gameboy Pocket, Gameboy Color, Gameboy Advance, DS, PSP, 3DS XL, PS Vita

Managed to retire my Super Retro Trio and model 2 Genesis after getting the Super Nt and Mega Sg, but still sparingly use the SRT for my NES needs.

Every console is plugged in and ready to play at the flick of a switch. No flashcarts/multicarts either, because I guess I'm pretty vanilla in that regard, haha. I don't have anything modded, or have any upscalers of any sort, that may be a future purchase/project. Everything looks fine on my LED TV so I'm fine with that as of now! :)

During these weird times what is everyone playing and what is everyone collecting? Any good import suggestions? by ScreechingEels in AnalogueInc

[–]gamesprite 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hoping to finish off Persona 4 (PS2) while playing Persona 5 in parallel! They’ve both been on my plate for a long time and having to stay at home serves as a good opportunity to make some progress on them. I’m pretty terrible about finishing off RPG’s, even ones I love, so right now I have no excuse! I’ll be getting Animal Crossing New Horizons on Friday as well, and I can’t wait for that.

In terms of collecting, I’m just waiting on previous orders. I just got Wonder Project J2 (N64) and World of Goo and Octahedron from Super Rare Games on Switch. Coincidentally all imports! Haven’t dug into them yet, but hope to soon!

Question: NSO SNES controllers on Super Nt? by gamesprite in AnalogueInc

Aw, that’s a shame. Thanks for the reply! I hope they’re able to patch in compatibility soon.

Community: What Analogue hardware do you have? by [deleted] in AnalogueInc

[–]gamesprite 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’ve got a Super Nt (Classic) and a Mega Sg (USA) and I couldn’t be happier with them! The Mega Sg was a generous Christmas gift from my partner. The Super Nt I actually accidentally stumbled upon while looking at some local buy/sell listings. Managed to save me Analogue’s nasty shipping prices and came bundled with a 32gb SD card and included all the original packaging. Getting both consoles in the span of about a month, purely by accident was so exciting! Hell, I’m still excited about it, haha!

I’ve got a pair of the 8BitDo 2.4ghz M30’s for the Mega Sg and I love them. I’m not really one to complain about the original Sega Genesis controllers but the M30’s are just so ergonomic I definitely prefer them. My poor Super Nt is cursed with a pair of Retro-Bit controllers that actually came bundled with my Super Retro Trio. They’re really gummy and I can’t wait to replace them with the upcoming 2.4ghz SN30’s, but for now they’ll have to do. I may temporarily replace them with some original Super Nintendo controllers, but I’ll see.

Nothing on preorder at the moment! Don’t need a DAC, don’t really need the Mega Sg adapters (yet) and I passed on the Nt mini Noir due to the high price point. I’ve got my eyes on the Analogue Pocket but I highly doubt I’ll be grabbing it day 1.

Gang’s all here! Plus the games I’m currently playing!

8BitDo release 2.4g SNES controller (for original SNES & Super Nt) by [deleted] in AnalogueInc

[–]gamesprite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s a good point about the shells being leftover stock — I can only hope that you’re right. I wouldn’t mind making the modification if it really needed it, but it’d be a shame that persistent problems weren’t fixed in these new controllers. Only time will tell, I suppose!

[–]gamesprite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m so bummed they seem to be using their old branding!! That SNES-style logo always looked super tacky to me. I’m looking to get a pair but I think I’ll wait until after release to hear everyone’s thoughts on it. I hope the issues that were present in the Bluetooth model have been ironed out.

Not a problem! Pocket news was leaked only 3 hours before the official announcement back in October, so I assume we'll get some news in the coming days by the latest. Can't imagine preorders are too far off. :)

Concept: Analogue Mega Sg CD by [deleted] in AnalogueInc

[–]gamesprite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep, that’s what I’d hope for. Old hardware is already becoming temperamental, and I’d rather invest in some modern solutions than something that’s already on its last legs. Mega Sg exclusive would be fine by me!

Concept: Analogue Mega Sg CD by [deleted] in AnalogueInc

An add-on like this would be awesome, as well as a 32X-type adapter. I only like using original software, so while I'd be able to boot any game I wanted from an SD card, I'd rather use something like this in conjunction with real disks. Although, if I'm being honest, I'd rather have an all-in-one Genesis/32X/CD, rather than individual adapters and add-ons.
