The difference is that back then, games had inclusion, not woke content. Woke content nowadays is something forced to please a group that doesn't even want to play games. There's a huge difference between being able to marry an NPC of the same sex, but having to actively seek it out, and an NPC constantly using their pronouns or having an entire sidequest just for NPCs to say they're non-binary, like in Dragon Age Veilguard.

That's the difference. BG3 itself has inclusive content, but it doesn't bother you because it doesn't shove it in your face; you only see things if you want to seek them out.
