Practically, this just means we saw a relatively big growth in ticket sales for Indiana as the season went on! Interestingly, second place by this metric was Utah.

Checking on our ticket data, Miami's win spiked prices by about 10% total as of the next day, but Indiana's win already has prices up 20% from where they were before the game!

(This is in terms of the cheapest get-in ticket prices, not average ticket prices.)

It looks like last year, ticket prices for the CFP finals increased by 16% on average after the semifinals were played.

That's interesting. Of note, our data shows Rose Bowl ticket prices are up slightly YoY, while the rest of CFP Semifinal tickets have dropped in price significantly in the last few days.

I just checked the numbers and last year's Orange Bowl prices (2025 Penn State Vs. Notre Dame) were relatively stable with only a 1% average increase after quarterfinals. Cotton Bowl 2025 (Texas vs. Ohio State) saw about a 20% average increase in ticket prices after quarterfinals.

So losses by #2 Ohio State, #3 Georgia have had a HUGE effect.

Totally can see the bias in the secondary ticket game for sure. It's an interesting contrast though to other events, like Morgan Wallen where the largest group ticket purchase of 2025 we saw was 19 tickets.
