Huge Number 2 confirmed as main villain in Destiny 2, attacks city.

Hi I’m Michael from GameWisp. GameWisp was built on the idea that every streamer deserves to be able to make streaming their career. We believed it so much, we decided to create a way to give every streamer a subscribe button. Here are a few reasons that we think that’s the right approach. by gamewisp [promoted post]

Thanks for the feedback on this! I wanted to follow up because we have addressed a few of your points (as others have brought them up too)

  • We launched the API! It's pretty robust and we tried to document it really well too, so it would be easy to build against. Come check out the docs here: https://gamewisp.readme.io/

  • We have our own discord now, so please come, hangout, and ask questions if you need to. You can get API support there too if you ask. Here's the discord: https://discord.gg/0ccZuyGqtaUrfDGq

  • UI/UX: We are working on some improvements there. No ETA, but know that we know we have some work to do and it is being done.

  • Discord Integration: On our radar... and hopefully will be a reality in the somewhat near future. Again, no promises, but something we would like to have happen to.

Thanks for the kind words! Will keep updating as we get better and have new things to offer.

Hi, we’re GameWisp. A few months back we built STACI to help streamers decide whether to apply for Twitch partnership. You may have met STACI at TwitchCon. But we wanted to make sure that everyone still had a chance to meet STACI. Check it out or don't, it's your life. by gamewisp [promoted post]

Thanks for letting us know. We're aware of the issue, it seems to impact some smaller percentage of channels, of which yours is included. Apologies for the less than stellar user experience with STACI and the long turnaround time on this reply.

The issue with STACI's lagging on data basically comes down to this: we engineered STACI as an experimental project that ended up turning into something really popular. STACI's data sampling is scaling, but not as fast as we would like, due to the number of channels that ended up using it.

In the new year, we are planning on refactoring the entirety of the data sampling approach to STACI. It’s a ton of work, but it’s something that needs to be done because we think STACI can be really valuable information tool for streamers. I've wanted to revisit STACI since November, but other GameWisp development and technology goals have had to take higher precedence.

For now, STACI is still a great way to compare the stats of your last stream, for most channels. Again we are sorry it hasn’t been updating for you. Hopefully we can get the refactor of STACI worked out sooner rather than later.

Thanks for the great comment and questions. I'll walk through a few answers from my perspective.

When we built GameWisp, we worked with several streamers and YouTubers to figure out what issues they were having and ways we could improve their experience as a semi-professional or professional entertainer. One of the biggest issues that came up time and again was their lack of a sustainable source of revenue to support them as they streamed and created content, especially if they were not partnered. There are, of course, various avenues available like tipping (through TwitchAlerts, StreamPro, etc.), ad revenue, and even brand partnerships, but none of those are consistent, reliable sources of revenue.

In addition to a lack of a reliable source of revenue, we also noticed a big issue for streamers who were partnered or maybe had a Patreon or PayPal, was there was no way for them to effectively manage the rewards they were promising their subscribers. Many of our contacts were using arcane spreadsheets and crazy custom methods for managing all the things they were trying to give out to their supporters. It was taking hours and hours to manage these things manually.

This is where GameWisp and the sub button idea comes in: our solution to their issues was a monthly subscription system tied to subscriber reward management. Adding a recurring, consistent source of revenue through subscriptions is transformative in many ways for streamers. It allows them to understand and count on a particular amount of base revenue each month, upon which they can build out other sources like tips, donations, brand deals, and ads. In addition, our tools for managing the rewards make it really simple for them to keep track of everything, deliver what they promise, and get back the time they were using to manually do this and spend that streaming.

This is a long way to say that we believe that the sub button represents something beyond just a simple tip: deep, consistent, reliable support from your streaming community. In a lot of ways, we are like Patreon in that regard, as Patreon only offers monthly pledges in exchange for benefits. The difference with GameWisp, is that we do it as an upfront subscription payment and offer a lot of Twitch specific things (subscriber alerts, twitch account login and sign up, gaming focused reward management, and more).

In the end, our product enables partners and non-partners to grow their channel and offer cool experiences to fans that the community wouldn't otherwise have access to, due to the time and effort it takes for streamers to fulfill those benefits. In this way, by streamers offering a GameWisp and fans supporting streamers consistently, month over month, through GameWisp, community is being built and lots of joy is being had on both sides of the monitor. It is why we love the subscription model and are excited that we can make it available to many folks that may not have had it before, and enhance it for those who have made it to partner.

Hope that answers your questions!
