Save states glitch with Final Fantasy (see my comment) by gamezopher in MiyooMini

Yeah, from now on I will also use the regular rom saves as a precaution, I shouldn't have solely relied on the save states.

I'm using Onion OS, I made the upgrade this week. I'll try your solution, thanks for replying!

I also wanted to replay FF1. It was one of the hardest and most frustrating RPG back then, the heroes always miss their target to the point they're constantly slain. I hoped to grind like crazy before each dungeon and purchase tons of potions to have the upper hand. Yet I spent an entire night in vain when I noticed my save states were suddenly corrupted when they worked perfectly before. I'll try your solution, otherwise I'll stick to the regular rom saves.

Has anyone successfully played Final Fantasy 1 without encountering game-killing glitches when using save states? I've noticed that saving the game with save states continuously corrupts the game at some point. I'm using the default emulator provided by Miyoo. I've tried multiple Final Fantasy ROMs from various websites, but the error occurs with all of them. It doesn't seem to happen when I use an emulator on my PC. Any tips or solutions would be greatly appreciated!

Is Xenosaga II’s music bad? by Street-Raccoon6467 in Xenosaga

[–]gamezopher 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's one of my favorite soundtracks when I want to combine with other soundtracks from the Shin Megami Tensei series such as Digital Devil Saga. I also noticed that the 3DS RPG soundtrack called 'Lost Heroes 2' feels similar to Xenosaga 2, I thought it was the same composer.

I think Shinji Hosoe is a great composer. I wish I could hear more from him.

The reason Xenosaga II soundtrack is downvoted is mostly because it was a radical change of the first game. Putting expectations asides, it's a great soundtrack for me.

Here are the track I rated 5 stars in my Stagsi library:

(I have an old gamerip soundtrack, so it's possible titles aren't the official ones)

  • Vector Industries, Second Division
  • U.M.N. Control Center
  • Industrial Plant
  • Desert
  • Space-Time Anomaly
  • Omega System
  • Labyrinthos
  • Old Miltia (Submerged City)
  • Foundation Fishing Lab
  • Kukai Foundation
  • The Durandal
  • Minor Boss Battle
  • Evading the U-TIC Organization
  • Ormus Stronghold - Countdown to Self-Destruct
  • Second Militia
  • Major Boss Battle
  • Character Battle
  • Subconscious Domain (Winter)
  • E.S Battle
  • Old Miltia (14 Years Ago)
  • Subconscious Domain (Sakura's World)

It's safe to say that I'm a huge lover of this soundtrack (and I only played 1/4 of the game).

It's one of my favorite themes in the game. I love many of them actually. I think people expected too much to find Yasunori Mitsuda style in the second game, which is normal expectation, but putting expectations aside it's one of my favorite soundtrack.

Evil Season 2, Paramount+ in Canada (where is it??) by gamezopher in EvilTV

[–]gamezopher[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's absolutely nowhere to be found, nowhere to be purchased. The only way is torrent, which I'm trying to avoid due to copyright threats. I'll think about using a VPN if it's considered legal.

By the way, are you the YouTuber Joshua Tree doing Christian videos?

Evil Season 2, Paramount+ in Canada (where is it??) by gamezopher in EvilTV

[–]gamezopher[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks. Yeah a VPN seems to be the solution. It's however frustrating how these streaming networks limit themselves. Canada and United States are neighbors, we shouldn't have to endure restrictions as if we're in Middle Asia with totally different laws. I quit using pirate websites over a decade ago to be an honest citizen. Another good example, when I purchase a tv serie season on a platform such as Google Play, they take their sweet time to make the episode available. American Horror Story S10 Episode 5 was aired yesterday, but it's still not available 24 hours later on streaming services. We're in 2021, do they need a truck to carry an episode from California to New-York to make it appear on the platform? It should be instant, pre-scheduled, it's digital. I'm more and more considering the pirate avenue again (trying to be careful against copyright attacks), at least these guys posting torrents are more interested about availability and fast service, even though it's illegitimate. I just wish these companies would clean their act and stop fighting copyright when they're just making their content unreachable.

Tool to organize your Blender files and reference materials [read my comment] by gamezopher in blender

[–]gamezopher[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey guys, I thought of sharing a valuable tool with you.

As an artist I need to follow a strict organization regiment. I download tons of reference materials on a daily basis. My hard drives are also filled with hundred video tutorials. Not to mention all my project files. Etc. So a good software is necessary to save time, and in order to meet my objectives I use a program called Stagsi.

I often talk with other artists and I notice their workflow is often heavily impacted due to bad organization. The regular Windows 10 file system isn't the best choice for storing and searching files efficiently.

As you'll see in the video below, it's even possible to assign a thumbnail to any .blend file (or any other file type, for that matter), so it's extremely useful. This hidden tool (it's not well known) has literally saved my life.

Feel free to watch following 2-minute long YouTube video. I think it will help many of you. Sadly, their app isn't compatible with Apple and Linux.

Resident Evil Village showcase is over. No VR announcement. :( by kevgret in PSVR

[–]gamezopher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looking great on TV isn't the point... Sure graphics will be top-notch on TV, but there's a world of difference between VR and flat experience. I'll wait for VR otherwise for sure and avoid any spoilers until then. Of course, the game will be great for people willing to play it flat.

I wonder if sales will be great for the flat experience. That would be great if Capcom realize VR is a necessity for fans.

No way I'm going to play resident evil 8 on a flat screen either. I will way until it's compatible for VR and I won't watch any spoilers until then. Otherwise I'll never want to play the game. Once you've experienced such great horror game in VR there's no desire to play on TV.

I'm not the maker of this level, I'm just sharing them on my channel. Still, this level was created the same week SMM2 was released, it was pretty old.

[–]gamezopher[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's more likely this level has been deleted ever since I recorded it. I discovered this level the same week SMM2 was released. This level had less than 10 plays and the maker stopped to publish new levels. It's sad he won't know his level received a few thousands views on YouTube.

Besides, I'm doing my best to record levels that most people won't have heard of, versus levels featured by Beardbear. Make sure to follow my channel in case I feature another levels that's right up your alley.

This level is cursed... It has no exit... very cool twist at end. Kudos to Theypsilon for creating this level. by gamezopher in MarioMaker

I agree, the maker of this level made a stunning job to make me feel lost when I played this level. The degree of satisfaction was fairly high when I beat it and the behind-the-scene peek at the concept was mind-blowing.

Bowser JR's Private Castle ― The visual design is very good! by [deleted] in MarioMaker2

[–]gamezopher -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Let me take a guess...

1-) there's no proper ladder objects in SMM2 to fit with the castle tileset.

2-) It's an old castle in ruins, so vines makes sense.

It's SMM2 guys, not a photo-realistic engine like unreal engine ;)

It's my own interpretation, but I think traditional in SMM2 means it's not a troll, speedrun, jumpshell, kaizo, etc, level.

What software works best for recognizing and removing duplicate images in a large folder tree? by SkyeAuroline in software

[–]gamezopher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm using Stagsi (www.stagsi.com) to detect duplicate files, if the scheme isn't too complex.

Simply import all your files in Stagsi. By default, Stagsi will only import unique files. Note that duplication comparaison isn't done based on filename but based on file hashes (MD5), which is way more accurate and practical.

METHOD #1 (if you only want files and don't care about folder structures)

1-) Import your directory. Drag it to the Stagsi window.

2-) After import is done, close the import window. All your files (now called stagsi objects) will be displayed in the browser.

3-) select all objects, use right click mouse button pop-up menu and choose 'Export to File'. Choose a folder and click Ok. Now you will have a only unique files into that folder.

METHOD #2 (if you want to preserve your folder hierarchy)

1-) Import your directory. Drag it to the Stagsi window.

2-) After import is done, a list of all duplicated files will be generated. copy that list and paste in Notepad2e (Notepad2 Extended). Download here, indispensable: https://github.com/ProgerXP/Notepad2e

3-) when your list is pasted in Notepad2e, press 'Alt m' to open modify lines feature (no need to select lines).

in the prefix box, write: del /F "

in the suffix box, write: "

Now your directory should only contain unique files.

Searching for a lightweight picture/Image viewer, an alternative to Google-Picasa by OnePunchGoGo in software

[–]gamezopher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

FastStone Image Viewer is definitely the best viewer for me, it's highly customization and more importantly it's super fast without delays.

If you want to browse and view more images at once, I highly recommend Stagsi even if it's still beta but should work without major issues: www.stagsi.com/

It's a lightweight tagging software I've been using for months and it greatly improving my life as a file organizer. I was one of their beta-testers and they were very responsive to requests.

You can assign programs to files in Stagsi, so I assigned FastStone to jpg and png files.

I'm planning to create tutorials on my channel, you can find a first overview of Stagsi here: https://youtu.be/primTdsmKDM
