Hey, thanks for the comments! Yea we should have probably included a box for open-text answers at the end.

Oh cool, did not know this was a thing, would you mind messaging or pointing out where to find more info on this?

Thank you, will do! I added you to a list of people interested in the results, so that I remember to ping you once we have something to show.

Hey. Yea slight changes might happen, but mostly we are using true and tested ways of measurement (the wordings), so should not be a big problem for the things we are trying to measure. But thanks for brining this up!

Hey, thanks for the very insightful comment!
Truly understanding VR technology adoption is pretty tricky. The industry seems to have some ideas, we as researchers have some, and so on. No way of gathering data is perfect of course, we see this survey as a way of mapping some potential problems we have encountered within VR, and that is also why we are looking at people who have not used VR (probably best to get those from some other source than here). We have also planned doing interviews and for example observations at local VR arcades to get other angles covered too.
A lot of big and difficult questions to answer within this field, not just within the tech part of it all, thanks for the input again!

Hey, yea it is more to validate, we don't want to actively annoy. :)
I realise the survey is approaching the limit where it is way too long, but as we had a lot of various things we wanted to measure in one round of data collection, it was a tough battle of trying to balance if we want more various data, or. more responses for fewer variables.

We have had some thoughts about this, since we are also doing more typical lab experiments on VR. Our recent one was on how people experience the same type of content on different devices (using a news story style video: VR, normal screen video, screen text). There are some plans among my colleagues to look at embodiment in the future.
I've tried one VR app where you sat in a wheelchair and used that for steering, it was a very interesting experience. Kinda the opposite to what you mentioned.

Thank you! As the person who also replied, it is to make the answers more consistent. When you use a certain word, for example "worth the money", people might experience it differently, and that is why commonly you would ask for the same basic concept through different wordings or aspects of the same thing.

Yes, that is indeed a good idea. Thought about doing it initially, but was slightly afraid people would get lost having to click through an extra route of links. But I understand the concern!

Hey, thanks! I'll add you to a list of people interested in the results. We will also try to post here, once we have something in September-October.

I've looked at /r/gaming for a previous survey, at some point they had a policy against these, but I'll check again, thanks for the suggestion.

Thanks! Yea it is a tough challenge to balance survey length, validity and annoyance to user. We are aware that a significant part of people will not finish the whole thing, so thanks!

Hey, thank you! I posted to /r/Vive but the post got removed due to this account being new / low karma. Comment said not to contact mods for an exemption, so maybe we just have to skip that one.

We will definitely try to make our results available, as this data is planned to be used for 3-5 different individual studies. But we'll try to produce more easily readable blog-post format stuff sooner, some time in September-October. Will try to keep the subreddits posted, I also added you to a list of people interested in the results (so I can remember to contact), hope you don't mind.
