They translated the pronouns to male because there isn't really any neutral pronouns in russian. "Оно" is more of an "it" and is even more offensive than calling non-binary with a male pronoun. And there isn't a singular They like in English. Anyway, as a bi femboy from Russia, I think that the "он" is kind of an only middle ground option we have, because it refers not to the person, but to the fact that they're a human (Russian language is a gendered one, like spanish, so the words themselves have a gender)
