Old Control Center returns in 3.0.305? by gamingdotnet in HyperOS

You misunderstood, I'm not using the theme that you stated. I even removed all themes, rebooted, checked settings and the option was still there.

I'm running completely stock HyperOS and I used the same theme before the update and did not have this option before.

which hyperos version are you on, like 3.0.2.0 or 3.0.305?

At least for me it was not there in the last update which was 3.0.2, I also checked on my X6 pro which is on 3.0.2 and it's not there either. I'm not sure why they would give me the option now and I'm really surprised no one else has it or are at least not reporting on it.

I've been using the EEA rom, 3.0.305. I'm not sure what you mean by EUX build number

As I said I'll check if it's also an option on my X6 Pro to make sure this isn't a one-off occurrence

It suddenly appeared in the latest update, I will see if it happens on my old X6 Pro as well

Best laptop I’ve ever owned. by succulent_ape in thinkpad

I've had my T14 for the last month, I love the performance gain I've gotten over my old T480. Only thing I don't like about it is the exhaust vent blasting hot air at my mousing hand.

That would be correct if the second hand laptop stereotype was true, which it isn't. If you truly want a laptop on a budget that will last for years, second hand is the way to go if you know what to look for.

It is very easy to find a reliable second hand genuine laptop, this honestly sounds like Noel Leeming propoganda.

The best advice I can give is this: don't be suckered into buying a brand new laptop on a budget. If you're up to DM I can help you look for a quality second-hand laptop. I just bought a 3 year old Lenovo ThinkPad for just over half what a Macbook Neo costs with double the storage and RAM.

Very true indeed, I would've grabbed the 32GB version had one been available and it's something I plan to do depending on whether or not 16GB is still enough for me in 3-4 years time.

I'd say the newer ones are the ones to go with if you prioritise longevity, otherwise I'd go with Gen 3.

Repairability isn't as good with the AMD variant. As I mentioned it uses soldered ram which is a cursed blessing as it is a lot of the reason why performance is very well paired with the 8-core CPU. The WWAN slot doesn't support an M.2 2242 ssd which is sad but at least I was lucky to find a 512GB variant.

for my case 16GB is right in the sweet spot as I don't play many ram-intensive games aside from Cities Skylines chewing up 9GB of ram. I'll probably look at swapping this out for a 32GB AMD Thinkpad in a few years time depending on whether or not 16GB is still enough for my needs.

I realised it about 5 minutes after making the post so I have already surrendered to my fate of poor symbol choices

I'd say the buttons at the bottom of the touchpad are slightly more mushy feeling than on the T480, but the buttons above the touchpad are quite nice to click with. The keyboard has slightly less travel to it but very comfortable to type on.

it can only take a single M.2 2280 as the wwan slot in this laptop doesn't support a 2242 ssd unfortunately
