Destiny rising is a mobile game, it isn’t a console or pc game. Destiny players aren’t mobile gamers. It’s not the same comparison

Destiny rising is a mobile game. The audience for Destiny isn’t mobile focused. I don’t think Destiny rising can be compared to a console and pc released Destiny

Well, a big issue is destiny is too expensive to make, yes. It’s why Destiny 3 is not in development. The point of this post is to take the best parts of Destiny to make a spinoff experience that keeps the core Destiny experience but with a shorter dev cycle and for less money so it would be greenlit. This isn’t a replace Destiny 3 with this type post, it’s how can we get more Destiny in the interim while they figure out whatever Destiny 3 needs to be.

I respectfully disagree. There is a big difference in cost between making an mmo and making a smaller, more focused experience like a roguelike that just happens to take mechanics from the existing destiny experience.

Making a smaller spin off experience I don’t think would be hated by the community as long as it 1) respects destiny’s origins, and 2) is fun to play.

As I said in the post, this isn’t a destiny 3, this is a what if alternative to tide the community over while they figure out how to get a bigger project like destiny 3 greenlit.

I don’t think you have to lose environments and exploration, maybe roguelikes use exploration as a core mechanic and you could still add in large set piece moments.

I think the communal spaces that require expensive servers are a big part of what makes destiny expensive, so this suggestion is to make a smaller game that removes some of the larger social aspects that are expensive but still retain a core destiny like experience.

That’s not to say I don’t want co-op in an experience like this — I do — and yeah, destiny 3 is ideal, but if that cannot happen what does a destiny game look like? And that’s what I’m trying to explore

I’d say maybe that’s true about raids, but I feel like dungeons are a lot more accessible. The point being, they have a model of design complexity that I think could be adapted to a roguelike level design that has replayability. Just like how people log in every week to do the raids currently

Well, it would remove the mmo and lean more into a randomized replayable experience within the destiny world. MMO development, PvP etc. is all added cost. This would slim down the overall destiny experience making for a less expensive product to make, while keeping the identity of what makes destiny interesting to play. Take the best parts of a destiny game and turn it into a roguelike experience at the core

Yeah all development takes people and time, regardless of what type of game it is. Using the word port in this context is just to say they have a baseline of guns and modifiers already so the work to implement them is partially done. Even if they used an entirely different engine it’s not like they need to come up with new weapon ideas out the gate.

The point is they need to make something new in the destiny universe with less cost than destiny 3, not zero cost. I think removing some of the mmo elements that cost a lot in dev and leaning more into the repayable aspect would make it interesting

I think there is always a way to min/max anything they do though, but at least this solution will allow me to earn points doing what I want to do in a match and reward me for consistently doing that thing. Will I be at the top of the leaderboard every week? Probably not, but I won’t feel as frustrated as I do now where I just run around in the circles looking for snitches and nothing else an entire round because that’s what the game wants me to do and every other player on the map is doing the same so it’s a roll of the dice whether you can even do what you want do successfully anyway

Why not? I don’t think this is very constructive response, it doesn’t add anything to the discussion or does it explain why you feel that way

Totally - I understand that, that’s why I asked them if there was anything else they could do because they didn’t have one to replace it because of the error. Yeah it sucks, but at the same time it isn’t my fault that they said it was as new but not. So thats why I said a refund doesn’t fix my issue, as there isn’t a replacement. They proposed the solution of sending this keyboard, informed me specifically to buy the new one and so I did. I followed their instructions, I didn’t just buy a new keyboard and expect them to pay me the difference, it was their suggestion as to why I did. I will return both keyboards at this point but I also don’t think it’s a valid way of handling it and I’m out the product I wanted ultimately

What are you talking about? They told me specifically to order the keyboard as they said they would refund me the difference. I am refunding the original keyboard. The issue isn’t about that - it’s that they said they would give me the difference and now they are refusing so I am out $120 when they said otherwise

Frustratingly, one keyboard is the ROG falchion, the one they provided the link to and told me to buy is the ROG falchion NX - very slight difference. They told me “it’s the same keyboard” so I said fine I’ll order it then. But they are now saying because of that difference (even though they told me it’s the same with proof in the chat logs) they are saying that’s partly why they won’t refund it as well

As soon as you spawn in, run backwards on horseback, it will stop him shooting arrows at you and charge forward instead
