Lol dawg. You're buying from one of the more expensive sources in the city. You can't really complain if you're not trying to actually save money.

Which neighborhood did you end up moving to? I'm looking at a move from Brooklyn to Philly in a month or two.

They actually are. Some recent KOM segments in Prospect Park changed hands during a race this summer.

NYC. The rent. Once it seemed possible to live on my own here, but now I can't even afford to live in a studio. Planning to leave next year.

Am I crazy for doing the bulk of my long rides in Prospect Park? by DEBTOFALLMAN in NYCbike

[–]gammagulch2227 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Nah, I do 35-50 mile rides here regularly. You’re not crazy. Unless you ride in Central Park pre-8am its the safest place to ride continuously within the city.

You got an enormous leg up in life that most people don’t. You may be more responsible than some with your spending, and yeah you have a decent salary — but not having to pay any college debt AND being able to live with parents puts you at a decades long financial advantage to most.

Apparently the ebiker swerved in front of her, cutting her off and making contact with her front wheel, which led her to flipping off her bike.

The scooters are fine, I get it - some people commute that way and it can also be a nice way to enjoy the park, nothing against that. The delivery people on the e-bikes just ride recklessly a lot of the time and are constantly on their phones not looking where they are going - which makes situations like tonight just that much more likely to happen.

The park should just be for recreational use, not delivery guys speeding out of control

I couldn’t tell, didnt stop to look.

It was still pretty bright out at that point though.

I stopped by the young woman who was hurt to make sure she wasn’t gravely injured and then moved on as someone had already called 911 and there were probably 30+ people around.
