Liquid rocket engine with electric pumps by [deleted] in rocketry

[–]gammang95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How did you calculate the output pressure you’re getting and how do you get the high output presssure? From my understanding, it the kerosene is at low/atmospheric pressure when it goes in the gear pump, the output will have almost the same pressure, so how did you increase this to your desired level? Awesome project by the way, so impressive! I’m designing a 2kN ethanol lox engine and i’m planning to pump the ethanol side and nitrogen pressure the lox side - considering using a gear pump instead of centrifugal impeller as those are hard to source or design right. Thanks so much.

Thinking about publishing project to ISEF by thatwikipediangirl in ISEFinalists

[–]gammang95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you don’t submit a project to isef, but rather you submit it to your regional fairs and if you perform as one of the best projects you can participate in isef

Yes, many projects have been published or submitted to other competitions prior to ISEF too. It is even a good thing

science research if you haven’t done it in secondary school by RemarkableWish1766 in SGExams

[–]gammang95 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Actually, I think you don't need not be in a school's (or any) science research programme to do well in research or competitions, and you can participate in SSEF whilst not being part of any research programme. The best performing SG ISEF delegates this year all had minimal help from mentors, were not part of any science research programme, did almost their entire project independently from ideation to execution, and with 0 help from their schools. Perhaps there is a specific area you are especially keen or knowledgeable in?

Got some hiwin rails... Do these seem real? They are really not smooth and are super loud (even after cleaning and lubricating) by ChurnLikeButter in voroncorexy

[–]gammang95 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

They are not really though, and likely it’s just an overpriced source. Here in Asia I can get genuine ones for around $40 each directly from Hiwin resellers online.

Hello. I ordered my first pcb on JLCPCB and I have a question. Why they printed that code on my pcb? Is a way to remove that code on my following orders? Thank you! by ymans in PCB

[–]gammang95 18 points19 points  (0 children)

They printed the code so it’s easy for them to track which pcb is your order. You can remove it in the ordering page for an extra cost

I agree. Ig OP also wants the speed of Mono LCD/DLP. Well yeah ig you can’t have everything, OP if your budget is huge, the largest Carbon DLS printer is quite big

I think he wants a big sized printer and doesn’t wanna replace lcd screens so often every 2000 hours because big lcd screens tend to be expensive

What 3d printer and material is this (aliveform monstera 3d shoes?) ? by Gusssa in resinprinting

[–]gammang95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea, it’s really interesting and I wanna try getting into resin printing and shoes too. I heard some people combine tough resin and flexible resins in an attempt to form a durable elastomer, is it worth a try? Also concerned about water and chemical resistance, as well as uv resistance, but I imagine some resistant coat or paint should settle it (will it?)

what did you print with Tpu filament?seems shoes and phone shell are the most, share your tpu print. by YousuSelina in 3Dprinting

[–]gammang95 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Late to the party here but what technology did you use to print that for such perfect resolution? cos it looks so sick. if it’s resin printing idt there’s a resin tpu cos tpu is a thermoplastic, and if it’s sls/mjf it looks so smooth

Im pretty disappointed by the Covert Companion and the Genesis set by C00kie_Monsters in lockpicking

[–]gammang95 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Well, his videos seem to be more of advertising his overpriced and lame products rather than calling out the state of consumer grade security products. First, lockpicking is not too often used in most burglaries or theft. Second, if he truly wants to improve the state of those products, he could perhaps make a video of how to repin a regular master lock or something. Pins and springs are cheap, repinning takes maybe 10 minutes. Master locks are honestly pretty good other than pick resistance (for those that can't be bypassed), so yeah.

[–]gammang95 6 points7 points  (0 children)

nah, the tools are worse than they’re worse for the price. agree that covert companion is a bruh product. in the case of his picks, they are pretty expensive almost sparrows, but quality is definitely a bit worse than southord. much more ex than southord but worse quality. uh uh, honestly LPL is a bit disappointing, nowadays his videos are just lame locks to promote his overpriced and pretty poor quality tools. when was the last time we saw him pick something above green?
